hvac doors are broken is the likely cause..common failure. Not sure on a 2006 where to even look. Do you get floor and no defrost? What happens when you try to redirect the airflow from say floor to dash to defrost?
You have a broken recirc door. I'll bet my hat on it. remove your glovebox and look at the recirc housing while switching from fresh air to recirc and if you don't see the door moving, you've found your problem.
Well this morning I started the truck Defrost worked great until I stoppedat a RED light . Now no defrost nomatter were I put the controls air comes from vents no air to defrost . Took advise removed glove box the door . The door for outside - recycle for max door moves the arm for everthing else doesn't move . What is the electrical unit call so I can order new Thanks
actuator is the motor part, there are 3 i beleeve, but the bad news is the one for the floor to defrost requires removing the dash as there is a metal support directly behind the fold down cup holders. Good luck, let us know what you find.
