Radiator flushing

Trying to be proactive as my truck has over 100K miles, I replaced the antifreeze yesterday. When I drained the radiator and lower radiator hose I only managed to get 2 gallons out of the system.

My question is how do I drain the balance that is sitting in the engine? I flushed the system twice with fresh water to dilute the old antifreeze but each time it is only two gallons coming out.

I have the service manual and it says to remove the cylinder block drain plugs but have no idea where they are located.

I have the 5.7 Hemi.

Thanks!

The only way to really drop all the antifreeze out of the block is to knock out the frost plugs in the side of the engine. If you do a true flush of the system pull the thermostat so you can get free flow through the entire system.
