I guess anything is possible, but my gut feeling is there is something just not right, and it's not an alignment issue. I think it's a bit deeper than that. It will be very interesting to see what the auto glass shop has to say.

Hey brad, just a quick update so far. Since the last time it froze up on me, i tried to re-adjust the window in the frame (slightly tilted forward). So far i guess it has been doing the trick. We have had temperatures of -17c so far (this is southern ontario) and the window goes down no problem. So, could it simply be a wrong aligned window in the door? I will still check with an auto window place as suggested.
    Thanks for the input.

Nope....not normal for the mechanism to roll down and leave the window behind. If the window is frozen (normal), the motor should stall when you try to roll it down. If the window is coming out of the bracket, then it really should get fixed before it accidentally fall into the door some day which may result in a broken window. Check with one of the local auto glass shops to find out what they use to attach a window for those times one has to be replaced.

Hey Brad! First of I hope you had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. Now i need your advice / help, please.
My D/S door window keeps on freezing up on my (currently -8c) and when I try and "roll" down the window the interior arm will go down but the window stays putt. A couple of times i had to open the door panel to reset the window. Is this normal with power windows or our canadian climate? Are there any "tricks" to avoid this?
Mind you, since i bought the truck used i dont know if these are replacement parts or stock (cause of repaint issues). Just wanted to get a Canadian RAM opinion.
    Many thanks. Chris

I have purchased used parts, but only from members here. I know many have purchased from ebay and kijiji with great results, but there have also been a few that were less then impressed. It is a bit of a gamble, but if you know the risks and are OK with them, I see no reason to exclude them as a possibility.

Thanks brad! I know what you mean about how "evil" the Z really is. When I bought the truck I thought about maybe 3-4mods now....geesh.... You guys are giving ideas to us newbies left right and centre! Thanks again for the info. Would you ever buy used let's say eBay or kijiji?

For me there is no particular order. I keep my eyes open for good deals, and when one shows up that's on my list...and I have the cash....I go for it. Then there are the 'unintended' mods that happen just because opportunity presented itself. LOL
I have a few mods sitting in my shop right now that are NOT on my 'mod wish list', as the opportunity matched the cash, and I just couldn't resist. I can blame the Z for 99% of this..LOL. I have done more little mod things because of the ideas I've gotten here, and am enjoying the fruits of those unintended efforts.
I really can't suggest where to start. If you favor performance over looks, then focus in that direction and go exhaust, CAI, and possibly programmer. If looks are more important, tinted windows is great starting place. The only advice I can offer, is keep your eyes open for deals, and the for sale section here is pretty good place.
