(cont.) Hence, I can't even find any young guys to hire at the marina I manage. All of the kids have their bags packed before their graduation caps hit the ground.

No. I actually PRAY for it, lmao. To be truthful, I used to really love it out here. The very fact that it was so isolated made it like Heaven. Close-knit community, beautiful scenery, some of the best fishing, shellfishing, lobstering, etc. But in the last 20 years, we have been "discovered" by what I call citiots. (Idiots from the City). Now the water is starting to get polluted, it is getting more crowded, and it has shot real estate prices up about 350%. The RE prices are not a bad thing for me, as Gabi & I bought our house for just over 120k, and it is now assessed at 372k (high-end). But for young guys, no way they can afford a house out here making $25 an hour. And rent? F'n forget about it! When I was in my early 20s, I had a bunch of apartments ranging from $400-550 a month. The Citiot-owned rentals are now between $1300-2100 a month!

I have been to Buffalo, Rochester and Albany in my trucking days but that's it. Never the coast of NY. Was in Edison NY and Dover DE too. Aren't you afraid of dropping into the ocean out there LOL

Yeah, being off the touring "beaten path" would suck. I'm waaaaaaay out on the end of LI, but it's only about 1 1/2 hours to NYC. They have a lot of concerts in Nassau Coliseum, (Where the NY Islanders play) but it's kind of run-down and it's only another 20-30 minute drive to Manhattan, so why not go to the Roseland, or MSG?

So many bands I would love to see but not many come through this neck of the woods. I miss home
