$650 for just labor. Assuming no issues with Timing chains and tensioners, water pump (As they don't like lasting much more than 160K miles for us *knock on wood*), sludge, rods and other various innards that would be effected by dry starts. Also not including the needed coolant to replace the drained coolant. and oil.

I flat out told Silver that if he didn't behave himself I'd have to get rid of him. He coughed at me and then died. (yes, indeed I do talk to my vehicles.)

So assume 700 for JUSt the oil pump, with no hitches. That does not solve the dying IAC, nor does it cover the leaking transmission fluid from the front yolk by the transmission.
    *tugs at hair*
This is making me legitimately insane, I think. Or, rather, more insane than I used to be.
I really would like to meet the person that decided to embed the oil pump in the front of the engine...

Well, that bites the big 'ol pumping of oil thingy! Sorry to hear about Silver. Did your mech give you an estimate to fix him up? It might be more economical to fix him than to get a new car (ssshhhhhh, I think Silver can hear us).

School's starting to wrap up for the semester so it's getting busier. Nothing major though, I'm not concerned. I got this.

I'm trying to get a job at Braunability. Need a Job b/c I'm told I need to get a new vehicle. Silver was given a death sentence from my mechanic over a bloomin' oil pump since they're embedded in the front end of the engine rather than in the oil pan.
I can't afford the labor, let alone the (probable) replacement of the three timing chains and tensioner and the issue of the sludge, AND the leak in the front transmission yolk. (I won't even mention major body work that's needed...)

So it's sucked the past couple of days. Today Silver died 10 times before I could even get out of the driveway to go to school (Died a total of 22 times for me, not counting for Mech). &The CEL came on-IAC. That's 100 bucks plus labor unless I do it.
    It's been interesting.

    What's goin' on, Sister?

I'm working my arse off to get a bunch of jobs finished up by Christmas.

Not hard to change at all. Take the intake hose off and, while it's a little difficult to pry out, it will come out. Let me know how it turns out.

How you doin? School going alright?

    Long time no see!
    How goes it?
Okay, I've had lots of coffee so I'm slightly deranged.
One question. How hard is it to replace the IAC?
Silver's having some serious health problems.
Hope everything is going well for you!

    Hey Dood!

Aw geez. Vitamin C&lots of water. Fluids! (no, not beer. lmao) I have the strong urge to give you a hug, but, seeing as there's some states between here and there.. Consider yourself hugged, sir!

Sweet about the PCV. Been thinkin' I might just replace Silvers as there's some visible sludge in where the PCV valve meets the oil fill tube. As for the harness, between a strong love of lights&Kai's infectious love of lights, I've found myself-guess what-wanting more light. I'd been wondering what went into replacing the harness rather than wiring fogs. The OE fog install will definitely have to wait...

"about to turn 50"-I'm reading a birthday in that line. Didn't sound enthusiastic, but birthday nonetheless, hm? Still, I'll wish you a happy one.

Will do. You take care of yourself as well!

    'Sup Sister!?!

Woke up this morning with a sore throat. Thought it was just a morning thing from mouth breathing all night. Turns out I'm catching a flippin' cold. Damn the luck cause I've gotta fly to New Hampshire tomorrow for work. Other than that... oh, who am I kidding. Life sucks and I'm getting old.

Anyway, PCV valve is as easy as it looks. Should be a simple twist up and out. As for the lighting harness, not sure. Whatcha got planned?

I'm doin' OK for a guy about to turn 50. I wish I would have taken better care of myself. If I'd known I was gonna live this long I would have.

Take care of yourself, Kelsey and see you 'round.

    Hey Roger!
How's things goin for ya down there in Texas?
Couple of run by questions--There isn't anything hard about a PCV valve replacement, is there? It seems simple, but I've found some things are rather deceptive when it comes to appearances.
Secondly, Do you know how hard is it to replace a wiring harness for headlights/what's involved? No, I don't have any issues, just had an idea while brainstorming and I'm curious.

Hope everything is going good on your end.
    T/c Rog.

It's gotten to the point where I just rattle off what I need, the last eight of the vin, then come around the counter and show him which part I need on those bass akwards diagrams that they have. lol Craig is most definitely like gold.

Wait... you have sanity left after all this time on the Z?!

Yes you have me there. And nowhere else will you find a place with such a mix that, generally speaking, gets along rather well on top of it all.

    Thanks Roger.
    What sanity?! where?!

    Let the insanity begin!

Gettin' quite the reputation there at the parts dept, are ya? That's a good thing, though. Parts guys are like gold when you need one.

I'm usually up late cuz that's when everyone else has gone to bed and I get a chance to have some "me" time. I peruse the Z and play online poker. Kinda like I'm doing right now. The kids are asleep and Holly just went to bed. Time for Uncle Rog to get his sanity back.

Yes, but we are not just some psychotic version of a family; we are the psychotic version of a family. Nowhere else will you find an unorthodox mix of religious, political, goofy, sick, twisted people that have one thing in common. We love our Rams and we take care of each other. Ok, that's two, but you get my point.

Take care, my friend! And know this. You are missed, Kelsey, when you are not here.

    Let the sanity begin!!!
