Yeah, I sent you an email a few months back. Figured you were just busy with that thing called life. Glad to know you're still breathing and on this side of the grass.
I just got home from a two week trip in Little Rock, AR. This was my 3rd, two week stint as we are working on a new business up/over there. We've been driving out Mondays, staying for 11 nights and driving back Friday. So, I'm home for the weekend. Gotta make the best of it.
Hope you're doing better than average! See you round, Kelsey!
Long time no talk.
Decided to visit the forum again, see what sort of mischief I might be able to get into, lmao.
How goes it? (I need to stop being an air head and check my email more often as well, apologies there if I've ignored anything from ya!)
Anyway, hope you're doing well, and Take care!
Ah man Rog!
Prayers for your back, Uncle Rog.
I haven't been as active with the tech devices as I used to was.
Christmas and New Years were good, though nothing spectacular. 20th birthday came and went with no particular fanfare.
Silver is essentially inoperable. No leads on the problem. Ideas include computer issue, Fuel System or somebody dumped a whole lot of shit in my gas tank.
No job, No funding to fix truck. No Truck= no job= no money to get new truck. At the current moment anyway. I have some ideas, I suppose.
I wish you good health, Roger.
Anyway, enough doom and gloom. How are you doing? Haven't conversed with you in a month of Sundays. Hope your Holidays were good. As for mine? Well, I turned 50 in November. Feel like I'm 90 with my back right now. My Holiday was less than memorable. The last 3 or so months have been less than memorable for me. I wouldn't mind a do over. But, since that ain't gonna happen, I reckon I'll just grin and bear it till it gets better. I really hope it gets better.
I'm doin. Having some back issues and really busy at work. The two don't play well together, so it's been quite interesting. I had back surgery some 4 years ago, and have gotten 4 more good years out of it. But it's starting to hurt again, which effects every part of my life. Can't say life is good right now, but the world continues to turn, the sun rises and sets every day, so I have to try and keep up. I have good days, not so good days and terrifically horrible days. I've scheduled a minimally invasive laser surgery for the end of February. I have to travel to St. Louis for the surgery, though. I hope I can make it till then.
You told me to let you know how replacing the IAC went. I got 'er did. Cleaned the throttle body and replaced the IAC. Also had a bout of OCD and toted the baffle and that awful accordion style air tubing inside and cleaned it up before putting it back in.
It unfortunately did not fix the issue, so now I'm looking at the TPS. My brother-in-law from Michigan, Scott, is a mechanic and he looked at it and said it was the TPS. Y'know, that sensor that got replaced about 9 months ago.
But I may be making a road trip up to Michigan-- he says that he's done the oil pumps before and calls it cake. Scott also said I should try some BG MOA in the oil.
Now I'm going to go write a paper... blah
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
$650 for just labor. Assuming no issues with Timing chains and tensioners, water pump (As they don't like lasting much more than 160K miles for us *knock on wood*), sludge, rods and other various innards that would be effected by dry starts. Also not including the needed coolant to replace the drained coolant. and oil.
I flat out told Silver that if he didn't behave himself I'd have to get rid of him. He coughed at me and then died. (yes, indeed I do talk to my vehicles.)
So assume 700 for JUSt the oil pump, with no hitches. That does not solve the dying IAC, nor does it cover the leaking transmission fluid from the front yolk by the transmission.
*tugs at hair*
This is making me legitimately insane, I think. Or, rather, more insane than I used to be.
I really would like to meet the person that decided to embed the oil pump in the front of the engine...
Well, that bites the big 'ol pumping of oil thingy! Sorry to hear about Silver. Did your mech give you an estimate to fix him up? It might be more economical to fix him than to get a new car (ssshhhhhh, I think Silver can hear us).
