Hey bud, everyone keeps saying you are the man to talk to for my current project plans. I have an 05 qc with the 5.7, going to stroke it, and have been trying to find a performance intake for the fuel injection. I don't want a lot of electrical headaches, want to stay as stock as possible except for the extra cubes and power. This will be my daily driver still (not really worried about fuel mileage since it already kinda sucks) that will occasionally see long trips. I'm new to the truck and the hemi in general. Any suggestions?

zoodad, use a diablo tuner (I have a predator). My tuner is David Amalong (whitelightning on the boards David Whitelightning <davidamalong@yahoo.com>. He can do your custom tuning and has made a smog tune for me whenever I get smog tested.

We have been reading your posts on cam change in Calif. We are getting ready to assemble the truck any recommendations on can and tuner that could create a Calif smog tune?
    Thanks

Hey Fred, I have another question for you. I noticed in some of my looking around here you mentioned that at one point you were running 0-30 oil. Are you still running a 30 weight oil in your truck and if so do you recommend switching?

Hi, I am new to the forum and am wanting to do some performance mods to my 04 5.7. I have been looking around and here you know a lot about cams. I am thinking possibly a cam and the maybe new pistons, etc.. And maybe on to supercharger or turbo, or something along those lines. What I want to know is what type of cam I should get, any other things I will also need, and how much it will cost. Also I am going to be getting a K&N CAI, and edge CTS tuner. Will that tuner be good with cam and or the other mods I want to do in the future. Any help would be great thank you.

Hey bud, another member told me to hit you up since you the Gen3 Guru. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L. I have done all the basic add ons (LT Headers, Diablo Trinity w/ custom tune, 125 Nitrous, 3200 TC, air. I was looking at putting one comp cams extreme cams in it. Do you think this would be a good decision? I have am very mechanically inclined just never done anything like this, I am stationed in Lemoore CA but willing to travel a bit to do this with the help of someone or have someone do it? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I just wanted to say thanks, i went through with the exhaust and ended up going with an 18 inch maggie, but i saw that you posted your friend runs OBX Headers and you are running Pace setters. i just wanted your opinion on which ones you think preform better and are the better all around headers? right now i have an S&B intake DS intune and 3.90 gears and the exhaust what would be your input on header choice?

that sounds to me like this would be the optimal setup and eliminates just one more piece in the exhaust to go wrong, i think i will for sure have to do that instead of messing with a y-pipe, you mentioned before that you are running the biggest muffler that magnaflow makes?

..after seeing my setup, 2 other local guys went to my muffler guy to get the identical setup...is it coincidence that we 3 are the quickest ram hemi's at the track...

chefred, i notice your dual in single out exhaust, do you think that is a better option then a y pipe? does it flow better or worse in your opinion?

Another quick question Fred, How much louder are the dual cutouts compared to a single cutout. Is it a big difference? Just wondering if it would be worth the money to buy 2 cutouts as well as a dual in single out muffler and run your setup.
