    'Sup, Sister!

Yeah, I sent you an email a few months back. Figured you were just busy with that thing called life. Glad to know you're still breathing and on this side of the grass.

I just got home from a two week trip in Little Rock, AR. This was my 3rd, two week stint as we are working on a new business up/over there. We've been driving out Mondays, staying for 11 nights and driving back Friday. So, I'm home for the weekend. Gotta make the best of it.

Hope you're doing better than average! See you round, Kelsey!

Say what? I missed your birthday? Damn! Hey, guess what? You'll have another one next year. Perhaps Chelsea and I can remember.

Sorry to hear about Silver. And, while you had a 20th birthday without any fanfare, I had a 50th without any.

My back is doing much better. I have to medicate throughout the day, but I no longer have the debilitating pain that held me to my chair for the better part of the holidays.

    See you round, Sister!

Anyway, enough doom and gloom. How are you doing? Haven't conversed with you in a month of Sundays. Hope your Holidays were good. As for mine? Well, I turned 50 in November. Feel like I'm 90 with my back right now. My Holiday was less than memorable. The last 3 or so months have been less than memorable for me. I wouldn't mind a do over. But, since that ain't gonna happen, I reckon I'll just grin and bear it till it gets better. I really hope it gets better.

    See you 'round, Sister!

    Hey Kelsey!

I'm doin. Having some back issues and really busy at work. The two don't play well together, so it's been quite interesting. I had back surgery some 4 years ago, and have gotten 4 more good years out of it. But it's starting to hurt again, which effects every part of my life. Can't say life is good right now, but the world continues to turn, the sun rises and sets every day, so I have to try and keep up. I have good days, not so good days and terrifically horrible days. I've scheduled a minimally invasive laser surgery for the end of February. I have to travel to St. Louis for the surgery, though. I hope I can make it till then.

Well, that bites the big 'ol pumping of oil thingy! Sorry to hear about Silver. Did your mech give you an estimate to fix him up? It might be more economical to fix him than to get a new car (ssshhhhhh, I think Silver can hear us).

    What's goin' on, Sister?

I'm working my arse off to get a bunch of jobs finished up by Christmas.

Not hard to change at all. Take the intake hose off and, while it's a little difficult to pry out, it will come out. Let me know how it turns out.

How you doin? School going alright?

That sucks that Silver is in the shop. Hope you get it back soon.

Weather here is cold and snowy as well. Kinda put a damper on my lawn care business but oh well. Such is life I guess.

Keep in touch and let me know what you find out about Silver.

    'Sup Sister!?!

Woke up this morning with a sore throat. Thought it was just a morning thing from mouth breathing all night. Turns out I'm catching a flippin' cold. Damn the luck cause I've gotta fly to New Hampshire tomorrow for work. Other than that... oh, who am I kidding. Life sucks and I'm getting old.

Anyway, PCV valve is as easy as it looks. Should be a simple twist up and out. As for the lighting harness, not sure. Whatcha got planned?

I'm doin' OK for a guy about to turn 50. I wish I would have taken better care of myself. If I'd known I was gonna live this long I would have.

Take care of yourself, Kelsey and see you 'round.

Go with your gut and do what you love! Around here there are the old fashioned types as well, but you'd be surprised at how many end up trusting a woman more (even men know we are better with our brains ;)) These days I have guy friends who know their stuff about cars calling me for advice. Get in with a dealership if you can, people that bring their cars to a dealer have no idea who's working on the vehicle and generally don't care as long as it gets fixed. And dealerships are usually equal opportunity employers and usually will pay for certification as well. I know apprenticing in the states is a bit different than up here but I don't see why you couldn't get right in there :)

    Hey Kelsey,
I kind of got into it gradually actually. Started off in the shop I'm in as a detailer. Loved cars and had car experience but wasn't certified for anything. I worked detailing for a year and became acquainted with the body shop ways and one day my boss asked me if I'd like to get into the prep department and sign up for an apprenticeship. I jumped on the opportunity. Went through the schooling and got all the required hours logged and got fully certified. I love the job, I need job satisfaction to be happy, and seeing something go from damaged to like new is rewarding. I plan to go back to school in the next few years to get certified as a mechanic as well. Nothing better than being able to do all your own work on your vehicles :)
