    hey Bruce;

    no problem man..anytime...im glad to help.

    i usually use a few of each different colour pad for the job, but i have an endless supply. if you only intend to use one pad of each colour, then you should clean the pad often while using. if youre using the foam pads, get a pad brush and use it after every section, or panel at a minumum to clean the pad. you want to get spent polish and spend clear out of the pad so youre not griniding it into the rest of the car. also, when you remove the spend polish from teh pad, you will be working the pad cooler. if the pad gets too hot, you run the risk of delaminating the pad from the velcro backing. not the end of the world if the machine is off when it happens, but you can cause a boat load of damage if the machine is running and this happens.

    Hey Jeff, Sorry to bombard you, but one more question before I place my order. I am curious and have always struggled with whether to use more than one of the same pad when polishing or waxing? I am familiar with the need to switch pads from polishing to waxing as they are different applications, and as such different requirements. And of course I know when polishing, one may have to switch pads depending on the level of aggressiveness or lack of is required. But within the specific application, is there a requirement to switch to a clean pad? I typically in the past, unless the pad has begun to show signs of ware, used one pad and then thorughly cleaned it when finished. I plan to order from Auto Pro as you suggested and will order their backing pad as well as their pads. Thanks again. Best.

    Thanks much Jeff, it is what I figured and afraid of. I was not planning to buy a new backing plate right now, but you sound so high on their pads and I value your suggestions, so I may have to reconsider. Thanks again.

    Hi Jeff thanks so much for your valued suggestions and information. I am not married to Auto Geek or Lake, and would prefer to go with the recommendation you have made. So I will look at either carpro and/or autoality. You suggested 5.5" pads for my Griot's Garage DA, but it has as a 6" backing plate, so wouldn't I run into a potential problem with the backing plate over hanging by a 1/2"? In answer to your question, I use the Griot's Garage Machine Polish and their Best of Show Wax. I am however considering once I use up the wax trying the Opti Coat (I think that is correct) you have suggested. Thanks again. Best Bruce

    Hi Primo, I hope all is well with you. A questions for you. I will need to be polishing and waxing my truck soon and need to replace my pads. I have been using Griot's Garage pads, which have been OK, but I am not terribly excited with them, so I thought I would try something else and came across these at Auto Geek:
    http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country...-pro-pads.html and these at Adams:
    http://www.adamspolishes.com/c-58-po...plicators.aspx I would like your opinion on these or if you have a recommendation for other brands. What I will be doing is a light polishing and then applying wax. Also if it matters I have a Griots Garage Random Orbital machine (6" & 3" units). Thanks & best

    Thanks for the reply Jeff. I guess whatever you prefer. Looks like Opti Coat is the most durable and yields a good shine as its at the top of your list. Assuming its not a pain to apply. How do I go about paying you? I've used PayPal in the past but I haven't in so long my technology weak self would probably send my money to Singapore lol. Could send ya a check, if not I can see about learning pay pal again. Just let me know.

    Hello there. I was told by a Mr. "Chunkem" that you were the man to talk to about finding a product to take care of my chrome clad wheels. This is my 1st Ram. I've only had it a couple weeks and I'd like to keep the wheels shiny, scratch free and corrosion free. I plan on cleaning them with soap and water with a soft bristle brush to get the superficial stuff but I guess would like a nice polish or wax sealant that won't scratch when applying. Thanks a bunch for any help.
