Cool. Don't be afraid to bend my ear on this subject. LOL @ "like 'em big" Golden labs are fairly big breed, up to 110 lbs. and are great and well-tempered family dogs. Another thing is, say you run short of time on a particular week and can't give the Lab all the attention and exercise it would need. No big deal. If this happens with my 3 pitty girls, even though they are absolute angels inside the house, I can expect to find at least one hole in my yard big enough to throw a kiddie pool into if left alone for 2 minutes. To say Pits are high-maintenance dogs, with a need for constant stimulus is maybe not accurate of the entire breed, they do need to be more mentally challenged than most.

That's awesome. Pits get along w/ just about any domesticated animals. Small, fast- moving wild animals however, will trigger their inner terrier instincts. As for beagles, which are great dogs, if you loathe the "whiners" consider that any disturbance encountered by them will be met with a very loud and resounding BOOO...OOOOR beagle "howl". This was bred into them to alert hunters. Not sure if you already know all of this, just letting you know from my and Gabi's personal experience. (She works at our towns animal hospital, which has close ties with our shelter.)

Actually, at least around here, the shelters are 75% APBT's. They are, in our opinion the best dogs on earth. However, they are not for everyone. You mentioned "a pit or two" IMO, better have at least one companion for a pit. They do not do well being separated from their family. When alone, and bored, they will easily separate an entire couch frame from the cushions and fabric that were originally installed on it, and when you come home to find this, they have this "HEY! check out what I just did" smile on their face. I love that about them. But, with just minimal training, and much love, they are the best. Don't believe the BS about them being human-aggressive either. They will sound an astounding alarm bark at any "intruder" outside. But once inside, the visitor will have trouble keeping dog tongue off of his or her face. Sorry for the LP, but these guys are our passion.

Awesome. I think I told you that I lived there in the 80's. I enjoyed it. As for dogs, ADOPT, ADOPT, ADOPT! Please do not buy a dog! (As you may have noticed, Gabi & I are pro-adoption, and vehemently against puppy mills.) And as for chickens, that is so cool. I just built a chicken house complete with 12 nesting boxes and a scratch area for my best friend and his wife last year. They are doing very well, and I will never buy another egg for the rest of my life!

Well, I hope she gets it together. Sometimes kids, even with the best parenting, just do their own thing. I was a little guilty of that as well. 23 is very young. I made some really stupid choices at that age that I wish I could have a "do-over" on. Is the house in question in MO.?

Well the house sounds like a great thing. We had to scrape & scrimp to get into our house, so I know what you are talking about. The fact that I drive a beautiful Ram truck is due to Gabi's financial wizardry. (I LOVE her!) How old is your daughter? Is this a long-term thing, or is she like 37 years old and needing a place today? OK- that last sentence was a joke, please don't ban me! LOL! But, I have found that good things happen to good people, so I believe this goal is as good as yours. (And..... Gab says "Thanks, Stacy, I could never be mad at you." )

Hey was wondering if you may be able to help. I am off to a bit of a rocky start with my 2011 Ram 1500 Laramie. Yesterday paid $350.00 to have plugs replaced and another $400 for alternator only 39K pampered miles. Right now I am trying to find those plastic pull latches for the storage bins under the rear seats. Both pull handles broke, cheap plastic. Dodge says they don't sell latches I have to buy the lid/cover for each bin at $160.00 ea. There are also 2 in the floor bins but those I replaced with a Mopar upgraded chrome latch I bought on ebay. Of course they are slightly different than the ones I need for the rear seat storage bins. I have tried salvage yards but no luck. Has anyone else experienced this and found them somewhere? Thanks!

Watching from the outside, I thought that game was amazing. You went to Oklahoma? I'm sorry. (LOL, I've been there more than once.) Alice Cooper concert? Are you a fan? I kind of started w/ him, Sabbath, etc. in the 70's and on to all of the Metal music of the 80's & 90's. Still love the Seattle scene from 86-94 with Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, etc. Main love has always been thrash & death metal though. Early Metallica, Slayer, DRI. But just a rock fan in general. 50's, 60's, 70's........ all good stuff from those eras as well.
