I would suggest to ya to look at a Superchips brand tuner . I think 98SST had one for sale that I was interested in . He was gonna hold it for me . But I've still got several things going on before I could make the purchase from him . As for a cam choice , contact a cam company like Isky , Crane , Comp , Lunati or maybe even Hughes and tell them what your trying to do . It'll be best if you know some specs on the truck like gear ratio and overall tire diameter . I contacted them several years ago about a camshaft choice once I put 35's on my truck and knocked myself out of my power range .

Hey Kevin , glad to see your back . Yes they do have a rev limiter . 5300 seems pretty low though . Mine hits around 5800 . I'm not sure if you can completely shut it down with a programmer or not . I think my Hypertech will allow me to raise it . If you have a programmer raise it as high as it'll allow you to so that your aftermarket limiter can take full effect . Remember that your factory camshaft will only make power so high in it's rpm range . Over revving it won't make any additional power .

The 4.10's came factory in my truck due to it having the off-road package . I too have a set of headers to install . I'm hoping this helps .

Kevin , I lost my ability to maintain speed when climbing a hill when I put the 35's on . I'm running 4.10 gears and have a Hyertech (piece of junk programmer) . I have talked to several cam companys about making a cam change .

If you look under your truck from the front. Look under and locate your front end. Ok well then the housing for your RING hear (Should be to your right). Ok well if you look between THAT portion which i just mentioned and where your differential ends on your left, there should be a cap which has the hose which you use to put in gear oil. The cap that you see has a gasket mad of some brownish paper material. Anyways thats the gasket i REPLACED and i broke on of the 4 bolts which hold the cap in place. If it aint clear, ill get a picture as soon as i get my camera.

I hope i didnt lose you in any of those steps.

Which gasket did you replace ? Which bolts did you breakoff ? There are ways to remove the broken bolts but you must be careful . If you break the extractors off , then your in deep doo doo .

Hey there Kevin , mine is running fine . Mileage sucks . I'm in the process of putting a water pump on it . Is your leak coming from the end of the axle tube ? If so there's a seal in there . You will need to pull that side apart including the axle shaft to fix it . Let me know . Talk to ya soon . Tom
