OK people, I wanted to start a thread about my build. Its a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn, black exterior (which I love and hate at the same time ). Anyways I have debaged it, added the vent shade things, Ive order interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com which should be in soon. Also I am attempting to lightly smoke the tail lights. I have an old pair of LED tails off my GMC I am trying that out with. Actually I have heads, tails, and fogs that I am testing it with LOL. I am using the VHT Night Shades, but they seems to be a little on the blueish side unless you use it heavily. Help would be greatly appreciated with that. Ill attach a pic of the tails and heads that Ive smoked. I will be adding a brush guard (or front end replacement, dont know yet), headache rack, and HID's. Thanks for looking!!
Brand new from dealer
Debadged
These are pics of trying to perfect the smoked lights process on my old gmc aftermarket heads, tails, and fogs....Any help would be great as to why they kinda look blue (hard to see in these pics)
Thanks bud...no I didnt get any tails or 3rd, I damn well shouldve seeing that Ive spent like a lot lol...I got the big rig ice that goes under the doors and yes the smoked cab lights...im not sure if they are coming in today or not, fedex website shows theyre in bossier city which is 45 minutes away...the one yesterday said "on fedex vehicle for delivery" at 8am...the two today just show "at local fedex facility" at 556am...says scheduled for today though...im kinda hoping that they do come in tomorrow, i gotta get up early and go to houston lol
Here are a couple pics of the tire back on the truck...back two are being plasti-dipped right now, and ill do the other one tomorrow, and take a pic of them all installed...Only have one jack, and dont know where my 4 jack stands are...they would help out a lot LOL
Thanks man. Yea I can't wait either...I also got a heavy duty brush guard and volant cai coming. Hope to have everything installed this weekend. Well the cai wont be here until next week sometime, bummer lol. And by the way, love the avatar. Freemasonry helps build america!!! A lot of my family are Freemasons!
You'll love your Volant. Mine is amazing and works good with my exhaust heh. Can't wait to see how it works when I do true duals. Yea man get that thing leveled up and get those other mods on. WE WANT PICS!! lol. The wheels look good on your truck and will look real good with it leveled out. Headache rack should be an easy install as will the brush guard. I want the cab lights for mine, but doing all the existing lights first and then the cab lights will follow shortly after.
Yea I'm so ready to get bacl to the house to finish putting what I got on
.if this Guy would hurry and get this lumber off my trailer I could go ddamnit lol. But theyre wanting me to go reload, so now I'm trying to get out of that LOL
I have that frontier gear bumper replacement installed on my truck and it was very easy to do by myself.
1) remove stock front bumper
2) mount the provided brackets
3) get the bumper "close" so you can bolt it up to the brackets.
4) use a jack to make final adjustments and tighten everything up.
Took me 2 hours to do the front, rear, and exhaust alone. That's including removal of stock parts and messing around with the truck straight piped for a bit. All you'll need is a good set of boxed end wrenches and some standard and deep well sockets...and a bottle jack for the bumper adjustments (so that it doesn't move around).
Yea I got plenty of tools to handle it just have never put one on before. Its got the bottom mounts and the ones that go under the grille so yea. I should've done exhaust also, ill put that on my list. Lol
Thanks man, on the first rim I used 1.5 cans but I oversprayed quite a bit. The next two I used one can each and they came out perfect. The first layer I sprayed enough for 50% transparancy. Then I put 3 more layers on it, letting it dry between layers obviously. For the gloss I did the exact same thing. It looked good being matte black k but even better glossy. I got all my stuff from dipyourcar.com, cool website, lots of videos and how-to. But they don't ship to canada. They have a link to somebody that does though.

No problem man. Yea I got 8 cans of matte black and 6 gloss...they have a gloss kit that comes with 4 black and 3 gloss, I got 2 kits in case I screwed it up LOL...and also get the spray handle thing, goes on top of the can, just squeeze the trigger. Super simple.
Well guys I'm not getting home tonight. Ill have to do everythinr tomorrow. I guess this load was really important, which its not, its just plywood. I told my dispatcher, let me pick this up Monday, I gotta get home and drink beer, spray paint my rims, and show all my forum buddies lol. I don't think he gave a shit lol.
lol I know right...Ive been looking into getting my tanker and hazmat, thats really my only good option of being home everynight...technically Im home 4 out 5 nights a week, I dedicated...I tried like really hard to get out of that load buuutt...he had other plans lol
Headache rack and tool box installed in the rain, check. Sorry for the crappy pics but it is raining lol...once it stops raining Ill finish up the other wheels. I would do them in my shop, but as you can see, I cant do sh*t in there lol
HID's are complete, now starting on Recon Big Rig Ice running lights, heres some pics...By the way, still havent got around to plasti-dipping the other rim as you can see. Im like a 2 year old with all this shit lol
Truck is coming along great man. The rack and box look really good on your truck. Almost makes me want to get rid of my tonneau and put a box and rack or a roll on mine.. Hmm.. Damn this site and all the different ideas it can give you lol. Reps for the DIY method!
Thanks man. I got the last rims drying right now. Im gonna take some pics as soon as I get it on. And at dusk (or dawn, whichever one it is LOL) and night. Im thinking those big rig ice lights will look super sweet at night time. I didnt hook the white lights up, I gotta find a dome light wire to tap into. I read somewhere that they're in the pillars, idk. I just got tire of messin with em...and thanks for the reps
