OK people, I wanted to start a thread about my build. Its a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn, black exterior (which I love and hate at the same time ). Anyways I have debaged it, added the vent shade things, Ive order interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com which should be in soon. Also I am attempting to lightly smoke the tail lights. I have an old pair of LED tails off my GMC I am trying that out with. Actually I have heads, tails, and fogs that I am testing it with LOL. I am using the VHT Night Shades, but they seems to be a little on the blueish side unless you use it heavily. Help would be greatly appreciated with that. Ill attach a pic of the tails and heads that Ive smoked. I will be adding a brush guard (or front end replacement, dont know yet), headache rack, and HID's. Thanks for looking!!
Brand new from dealer
Debadged
These are pics of trying to perfect the smoked lights process on my old gmc aftermarket heads, tails, and fogs....Any help would be great as to why they kinda look blue (hard to see in these pics)
Hey yall I appreciate it...When I get a new vehicle I just go ahead and buy what I want for the exterior, then I work on performance...Seeing that this is my first brand new vehicle, I went a little overboard and really got what I wanted for it lol. The next 3 mods are gonna be the brush guard (will be in tomorrow), leveling kit, and Volant CAI (which will also be in tomorrow), which unfortunately I will not have enough time to install during the week. But all of them will be in the beginning stages of install during the week, but shall be finished this weekend, hopefully lol!!! Next, I will begin on performance upgrades...any suggestions?!?
what is tc? and yea I just talked to my buddy who owns an exhaust shop, we talked about getting headers with true duals...good part about that is I can get it at cost plus a case lol...bye bye resonators lol
You know I have no ideal why those damn bumpers are not black yet lol. I've actually been trying to figure out if I wanna plasti dip them or paint them. I'm thinking ill probably dip em. I guess ill get some of that thin plastic stuff and cover everything up. Thanks for the modivation lol. And I've never been a fan of the murdered look, but I think this one looks good. Maybe because. Its mine lol. Got a full weekend planned doing this stuff. Hey how do you like your fastman???
Torque converter. Oh and I also remembered another mod. you could do. Could get a ported TB (throttle body). Lot of guys on here swear by Fastman TB's.
I really want a programmer. Ill have to look into those. Might be getting a fastman, depends on how he likes his. I read up on them today, and I'm interested
Sad thing is there is no tuning capability for the '11 and up HEMI's. Everyone is waitinf for that little code to be broken so they can start tuning their trucks. I have a feeling though that the first company to break that barrier is going to make a lot of money once they release the news. My money is on DiabloSport but hey we will see who gets there first.
please post pics of cab light, I am thinking of the mopar ones. I got a quote from a local shop, $180 labor and I buy the mopar cab lights online/dealer or I can get recons thrugh him for 150 (which is alot).
Well got my Volant CAI installed, but with all these good things I got going, Im bound to F*** something up, and today I did. While trying to install the CAI, I busted the high pressure AC line. SHIT!!!! All I did was bend it A LITTLE BIT, and pop, sprayed all in my eye. So now I gotta go get another line....But since I broke it and got it out of the way lol, I installed the CAI...heres pics
That looks good man, I just plati-dipped my emblem and removed my pin strips. Will put up pics tomorrow as its getting dark...I seen on yours that you dipped your emblem, and I said I gotta go do that before it gets dark lol
Lol yup I like the blacked out look on the emblems most definitely. Plus with the Plasti Dip it is really easy to do.. Paint and then peel the excess lol
shitty, man that shitty, to bad on the small leak. But hey, theres a good side to everything, now I know what not to do when I install mine. Thanks for the heads up. Congrats on the new mod, looks good by the way
Thanks bud, and Im soooo glad that I could show you what not to do . You actually dont have to move it, its just easier if you do, BUT I would suggest just leaving it alone, as I found out...Fail on my part

Its all good man. I got all the lights from gorecon.com. the cab lights were 99.99 plus shipping, use promo code "fb15" and it gives you 15% off, which knocks off the shipping pretty much. It comes with very detailed install instructions specifically for 4th Gen trucks, but I want one of the templetes which are very hard to get, unless you buy the mopar kit. Yea you have to drill 15 holes total in the roof. 10 for mounting, and 5 for the wires to go through. You have to remove the headliner and run all the wires down to the dash. You can put them on a seperate switch or tie it into the parking light wires. I'm gonna put them on a seperate switch.
The lights are bright, if you run the fogs too. IMO, the light output of the OEM headlights are terrible. Yea when I first put them on I though they were bad, but I had the wheels off the truck and couldn't drive it. I have driven it a couple times and I'm content with them now. I bought (4) 27w LED off road lights and will be mounting them to the grille guard. Whenever I get around to putting the brush guard on. I think you will be happy with the HIDs, sorry for the misinformation earlier.
Well, the bumper has been plasti-dipped and coated with gloss, and the grille guard has been installed...Well, kinda, its just held up by two bolts so I could see what it looks like...heres pics
Pls keep us posted as to how the palstidip holds up over time with driving on the highway/stone chips.
Looks amazing!
Completely different truck
Thanks yall I will for sure let everyone know how the plastic dip holds up. I put 7 layers on, so it should last a while. Oh yea that rear bumper will done Friday, wont be home tonight so yea. Its a Westin HDX. I was gonna get a cattleman or ranchhand, but they don't cover the whole grille. This one a damn good job it. Lol at police lights. I'm sure the constable wouldn't be happy with me lol. I could see me now hauling ass down my road, lights and sirens going. Just to turn them off and pull in the driveway. He would be like, what the **** did he do now lol. Were cool though, so he would.probably do the same. Except I would be like shit, here we go again lol.
