OK people, I wanted to start a thread about my build. Its a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn, black exterior (which I love and hate at the same time ). Anyways I have debaged it, added the vent shade things, Ive order interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com which should be in soon. Also I am attempting to lightly smoke the tail lights. I have an old pair of LED tails off my GMC I am trying that out with. Actually I have heads, tails, and fogs that I am testing it with LOL. I am using the VHT Night Shades, but they seems to be a little on the blueish side unless you use it heavily. Help would be greatly appreciated with that. Ill attach a pic of the tails and heads that Ive smoked. I will be adding a brush guard (or front end replacement, dont know yet), headache rack, and HID's. Thanks for looking!!
Brand new from dealer
Debadged
These are pics of trying to perfect the smoked lights process on my old gmc aftermarket heads, tails, and fogs....Any help would be great as to why they kinda look blue (hard to see in these pics)
And yall are just gonna have to excuse those POS fords in the driveway, they're my roommates trucks. I already smoked his ass. His is a '12 also, poor thing wanted to take it back lol
Fooo shoo lol...hey I got some LED off road lights that are just crazy bright...ill post some pics of them later on...man they are BRIIIGHT. I'm gonna mount them on the headache rack facing rear, on a switch as backup/work lights
Thanks bud...never did I think I would be doing all this stuff to a brand new truck...its this damn site, just makes you do things lol...thanks for the nice comment
OK yall, here pics of the install of the LED lights. These are just daytime pics to show you how bright they are in the day, you already know Ill be taking nighttime pics when it gets dark. I am very impressed with these lights...enjoy!!!
First the light itself, 27w....it has (9) 3w LEDs in it
I hear ya man...I am very pleased with how this one turned out...BTW its starting to get dark out, so I guess ill be testing all 4 of these lights out...pics to follow
OK...so without further ado (I guess thats how you spell it LOL)....heres the pics, just excuse my ******* porch and the lazy ass dog lol...and just to show the level of brightness, first pic is just the porch without the porch lights on, then with LEDs on
lol...i know right...they would actually be a lot brighter if the 2 outside lights were aimed straight instead of off to the sides...but I did that so I could see the sides also when backing up
Well Im gonna be redoing my taillights this weekend, since I didnt completely inform myself on how to do them correctly. I just cleaned and put VHT on there. I just read up about wetsanding, vht, clearcoating, then waxing...will be removing the current VHT thats on there by gasoling, hopefully that will work, seems to work for everyone on Youtube. Im considering doing my heads and fogs also, but not too dark
I'm planning on doing similar stuff to mine just need a damn job first and then the warranty money from my R/T lol. I have a frontier truck gear full front bumper replacement on mine from the dealership when I bought it and I should be ordering a rear bumper replacement by July or August. Just gotta decide if I wanna keep the exhaust cutouts or get one without them and take the tips off and put dumps on it. Plus a 3 11/16" leveling kit(or close to it), damn heavy ass bumper lol
I hear ya man...ill be getting a rear replacement soon enough, I'm gonna get the one with the cutouts, never been a fan of dumped exhaust. Aren't you down there by killeen??? I loaded a helicopter at the airport there and took it out to a collector in Alabama a while back..it was pretty cool
..that was a little off topic lol
Lol I don't know man. Probably some of your fellow Canadians had the same ideal and decided to get em before you did lol. I don't know, but plasti-dip.seems to be hard to come by up there...what u gonna do, your wheels???
