OK people, I wanted to start a thread about my build. Its a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn, black exterior (which I love and hate at the same time ). Anyways I have debaged it, added the vent shade things, Ive order interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com which should be in soon. Also I am attempting to lightly smoke the tail lights. I have an old pair of LED tails off my GMC I am trying that out with. Actually I have heads, tails, and fogs that I am testing it with LOL. I am using the VHT Night Shades, but they seems to be a little on the blueish side unless you use it heavily. Help would be greatly appreciated with that. Ill attach a pic of the tails and heads that Ive smoked. I will be adding a brush guard (or front end replacement, dont know yet), headache rack, and HID's. Thanks for looking!!
Brand new from dealer
Debadged
These are pics of trying to perfect the smoked lights process on my old gmc aftermarket heads, tails, and fogs....Any help would be great as to why they kinda look blue (hard to see in these pics)
Well I actually did something productive on my second day of vacation. I redid my tail lights, and got my Z sticker in, so now Im reppin the Z!!! lol...Im gonna be plasti-dipping my rear bumper soon enough, probably Tuesday...
OH MAN! That sticker is great! Nifty that the lights hit it just right also! Really made me think I need to order mine as well. Don't know if I'll be so blatant about it right on my tailgate that big. I do kind of like how you got your forum name on it though!
Thanks man....and yea I know kinda large...they have different sizes you can get when ordered. Hell I even got the tape out and figured out how big it was gonna be. Seemed all good when I ordered it, then I got in. I was, damn, its a little bigger than I expected, but oh well...Its there now lol
Hey man! It looks good! Don't get me wrong, not to mention you are reppin' for people you like! Can't ever be wrong doing that. And it isn't like BAM big! At least the other RAM owners reading it know exactly where to go
Well now I got to order a pack of those switches for when I start doing my lighting AND I got to order once of those stickers for my truck. Am thinking it will go on my back window though.. There again mine isn't covered by a headache rack so that option was kind of nixed for ya lol. Truck is looking good. Look forward to seein that rear bumped blacked out.
What kind of center console are you talking about? One like this that comes in the truck? Or like a small one, where you can still have the bench seat?
hey man great truck. I tried to PM you but I guess I don't have enough posts yet. Anyway I used to have the same antenna you have on your truck on my old one and it caused a loud whistling noise at highway speeds. I have heard this is because it doesn't have the grooves that the OEM has. Have you experienced this?
Hey thanks man. To be honest I cant tell that there is a whistle COMING FROM the antenna. But then again, I do have that grille guard, the headache rack and the lights that cause wind noise. But I had that antenna on before anything else got put on the truck and never noticed any noise...By the way, welcome to the Z
So I need some opinions
Should I or shouldnt I???
These LED lights are mounted on the headache rack, Im trying to decided where I should lightly smoke them. Nothing dark at all, I mean they are on there for a reason
if you looks closely you can see some spider cracks. IDK whats up with those but theyre not on the light, just in the pic...dont know whats up with that...also I ordered 8000k bulbs for my heads and fogs, hope to have them in this weekend
5000k not bright enough? The higher you go, the less light output it puts out.
I typically run 6000k but have opted for 5000k this time around and at 55w digitals.
Will do for sure...hey here in about 30 minutes or so check back...I'm almost done plasti-dipping my rear bumper....gotta put like 2 more layers of clear coat on, only doing that because I step on the edge of the used to be chrome a lot and wanna get as many layers of everything on there to protect it
