OK people, I wanted to start a thread about my build. Its a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn, black exterior (which I love and hate at the same time ). Anyways I have debaged it, added the vent shade things, Ive order interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com which should be in soon. Also I am attempting to lightly smoke the tail lights. I have an old pair of LED tails off my GMC I am trying that out with. Actually I have heads, tails, and fogs that I am testing it with LOL. I am using the VHT Night Shades, but they seems to be a little on the blueish side unless you use it heavily. Help would be greatly appreciated with that. Ill attach a pic of the tails and heads that Ive smoked. I will be adding a brush guard (or front end replacement, dont know yet), headache rack, and HID's. Thanks for looking!!
Brand new from dealer
Debadged
These are pics of trying to perfect the smoked lights process on my old gmc aftermarket heads, tails, and fogs....Any help would be great as to why they kinda look blue (hard to see in these pics)
I love the stuff...and Ill be taking the VHT off those LED lights...it blocks sooooo much light, just did a test since its dark out...light output sucks now
The bumper looks bad ass man. I do love me my Plasti-Dip. If you want decent smoked lenses but don't want to spend an arm and a leg yet go onto ebay and you can find a ton of different kinds of tail lights for decent prices. That's where more than likely I will be ordering mine.
Im talking about the LED lights on my headache rack, if you notice in the pic, I tinted the ones on the left, and didnt mess with the ones on the right...and they suck now, so off goes the tint in the morning
Update on LED lights on headache rack:
I removed the VHT off of the lights on the left side, I got it all off, but somehow I guess I seeped through the lens somehow, I know it doesnt make sense but yea. I turned them on and they are as bright as the ones that aren't tinted. But now I have a smoked look to the lights without affecting the light output. So I did the right side, smoked them, left alone for about an hour, came back and wiped it off, same affect. Very happy with them now, cant wait for nighttime
Gas - just put some on a rag and dab a good bit on there to get it wet, let it soak for a few seconds. Then wipe more gas on there with a little elbow grease, comes right off...did it 3 times with my tail lights, and once with these...works great
STTs are a nasty tire. When I said aggressive all terrain in your sad day thread, those are exactly what I was thinking. There very quite for a mud tire.
The tires are good most definitely. The tread on them resembles my M/T's and from experience I can tell ya that pattern will dig through the mud no problem.. granted mine has a deeper lug and wider spacing. For wheels though.. they aren't bad if you are getting the white lettering, if not then I would go with something that breaks up the straight black look. Makes the tires and wheels look like a blob almost.
That's my 2 cents though. Like I said the wheels would look good with the white lettering, but without the white lettering they would look like a blob of black.
Thanks yall....man I love the tailgate bar, it is super super bright...ive had them before but never one from Recon. From now on, all my lighting (like the bars and whatnot) will be bought from Recon...yes its a little on the pricey side, 100 bucks compared to 40-50 bucks for others, but you really do get what you pay for. None of my previous ones have been this bright, or as well built...get it, you'll be happy
