Long trip MPG

I just made a trip from KC, MO to Williston , ND. My mpg on the way there averaged around 13 to 14. That was driving about 70 to 80 mph with a pretty decent wind. The return trip gave me about 18 to 19 mpg while driving in 4-hi for a few hundred miles, but speeds were down around 55 to 60.

I drove from Wichita to KC last week, 65mph and got 21.3 mpg. I was in a hurry to get back and drove 75 all the way, and got 18mpg. Both unloaded trips and hand calculated. Wind was calm. Speed definitely makes a difference.

I pulled a small flatbed trailer same trip on other time to KC, weighing about 2000 pounds. At 65 I got a hair over 18 on that trip too.

I like my truck!

I drove from LA to GA over Thanksgiving weekend and got 17 mpg(75-80mph) going and 19 mpg(65-75mph) on the return trip. I drive to the shooting range about once a week and get about 23 mpg at 50 mph. It's amazing what the speed difference will do.

I did a 900km round trip into the mountains 2 weeks ago and averaged 19-20 there in 2wd averaging 100km/hr then the return was 17-18 in 4wd for half the trip. Running the 87 econo diablo tune for the winter. Normally I'm around 20 with the 91 tune and a lead foot.
