wood stove in the garage

well last year I worked with an electric heater that didnt do much in the garage. This year no fawkin around. My parents had a wood stove in their garage that wasnt getting used (they spend winters in Mexico) so I brought it up to my place and put it in here. My garage is only 16x22 but fully insulated and wired (but not wired well enough).

Today it is 30 celcius/ 85F degrees in my garage as I work on my sled! It is -10C/10F outside. This is the warmest I have had it, and I sweating in a t shirt haha. Problem with the garage is that my truck wont fit in it (truck is 19 feet long and I have a 3 foot wide bench in the garage that came in it when I got the house. Next year Im tearing the far wall down and extending it a couple feet so I can work on the truck in here with the garage door closed and the heat on. And going to re wire the entire thing with 20 amp plugs...

It does sound like you need a longer garage
You have taken care of the heating issue, if it gets any hotter in there, the black flies will hatch early

I am glad i only visit Sudbury in August, i go up party with some friends, when i can

That's a pretty cool setup you have there, good to see you're making nice use of that stove!

Very nice set up, and a cheap one as well! Glad to see you've got some heat in that baby, I hate working outside in the cold and wet/snow.

Very cool! I need to get my wood stove installed in my shop. I have it sitting out there, just haven't gotten it put in yet since I am not sure where I want it.

I love those wood burners, had em all my life except here, my wife is afraid of them... so when I get my place its gonna have the biggest baddest woodburner I can find. I try to tell my wife it will cut our heating bill in half or better but she is a woman and wont listen to a rugged man....lmao

Thanks, the garage works good for sleds and quads, hopefully someday I can get my truck in there and close the door to work on it

Thanks! the stove was free and the wood I cut down and chopped off of my parents property as they live in the bush! Something about wood heat is so nice too!

I'm so happy I don't have to worry about that. It was 83 F today.
