Good set of tools for regular maintenance...
I was looking at some tool sets and found a good Craftsman set for $200 that comes with most every socket or wrench you would ever need for regular maintenance on my 4th gen. The reason i am posting this is because i remember reading something a while back about someone saying something along the lines of Husky sockets being one of the few sockets that could be used to get out the spark plugs. Does anyone have any issue with there tools?
Go for the Craftsman set. They are great basic tools. You will always need some accessories, such as swivels, extensions, adapters, etc...but start with a basic set.
I agree with shiftjockey! Probably could save some coin by getting a ratchet, shallow and deep socket sets, swivels, extensions, and a spark plug set
You'll need an inch pound tourque wrench for the plugs. They get tourqued to 15 inch pounds.A plug socket with a rubber insert to hold the plug in the socket helps to get the plug out of the hole.
My recommendations a good metric hardened (black) deep socket set,
Screwdrivers flat+phillips and at least 1 long handle flat blade
1 telescoping magnet
1/4 or 1/2 pipe about 1 ft long to use as a cheater pipe
set of wire strippers, crimpers (aka dikes)
Good set of wire cutters
2 lb rubber mallet
automotive hammer (rubber/Plastic)
Oh find a harbor freight and become real intimate
