Lifetime Factory Warranty

I bought a new Ram 1500 Big Horn in 2008. It came with a lifetime factory warranty. The only requirement stated in the warranty book is that I need to have a dealer inspect the truck every five years. Will I have a problem with the factory or dealer to honor this lifetime warranty?

I sure hope not,
i have the Lifetime Drive Train Warranty with my '09
I also had a 100,000 mile or 7 year Basic Care warranty to go with it

( the thing that i found out later, if you turn in the Basic Care warranty before the 36,000 mile point is reached, you can turn in that warranty & have it Pro Rated, then start up a new extended warranty. )
I bought the Lifetime Maximum Care Warranty, at about 34,000 miles
Now every non wear type part is covered for what they call Lifetime, i have the $100 deductible
I still have to buy parts that wear, like tires, hoses, belts, brakes

the basic warranty was
Basic Coverage: 3 yr. / 36,000 mi.
Drivetrain: 83 yr. / Unlimited mileage
Roadside Assistance: 3 yr. / 36,000 mi.
Rust: 5 yr. / 100,000 mi.
I forget what the emissions & paint warranties were

I have the same lifetime warranty ($100 deduct.) and heard the same about having the vehicle inspected every 50k or 5 years (can't remember which). I've asked service advisers at 2 different dealerships and they both said the inspection is not required...just make sure you're up on your maintenance and records.

Hope this helps.

The thing with the inspections is, its never nessecary, cause every time your truck goes to a dealer, the inspection is supposed to be done and logged in the database. Mine always is.

Wow! LIFETIME drivetrain warranty?

Wonder why Dodge changed back to 100k/5 yrs?

I will only drive 8-9k a year and would keep the vehicle much longer if it covered the drivetrain for the duration versus only 5 years.

The owners manuel in my truck (08 that i had) and my wife's 08 HEMI Charger state that the car must be brought to the dealership for inspection at 100k. But to everyone's point the dealership see's my wife's car every 3k for an oil drop and swap so they know the car.

I think you just answered your own question of why they changed it. They want people to buy new every 4-5 years rather than keeping.

2012 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4X4

I purchased the Chrysler factory lifetime warrenty when I purchased my 2012 Ram 1500.

I have not recieved any kind of paperwork saying I need to bring the truck back to be checked out am I missing something here.:wow:

I am planning this to be my last truck so I will never need to buy a new truck every again thats why I purchased the Chrysler Maxi Care bumper to bumper lifetime wattenty.

I am planning to Keep all the oil receipts for all the oil changes I rather do my own oil changes my self thats way I know there done right.

I not to sure about 8000 between oil changes myself I was thinking every 4000 with Mobil 1 but again it under Lifetime Warrenty :gy:

My wife lets the oil change places do hers just seems lot of them just dont care strip your oil drain plug round of the corners of the bolt tell you the one you have is bad so they can sell you a new one.:hah:

MARV02
that is why Jiffy Lube lost most of its customers down here
wrong oil, they don't check to see if there are lube points, cheapest Fram oil filters, cross threaded oil pan plugs
then the Bureau of Automotive Repair caught them Not doing repairs correctly & charging for unneeded repairs

The coupon is in the maintenance book----=DO IT or don't complain! This is only for 2008's they put that on to get rid of 08's when they were going down the tubes and I am getting offers of up to 1500 $ extra trade it in, which I will never do. I have a 0$ new waterpump and serpentine belt so far but only have 19000 miles on my 08 as I ride my bikes when I can
