BBK Headers 4th Gen.

Well as the title states. I got my BBK shorties today. These are the polished ceramic headers. Matt at MoesPerformance hooked me up! Big thanks to him. I heard good things about the American Racing longtubes, and the JBA headers. But haven't heard anyone running these yet on a 4th gen, So I thought I would test the waters first. I went with the shorties just because I'm not able to tune my Ram yet being that it is a 11'. I know a few guys have the ARH Lt's on the 11's and arent throwing any codes and some are.. Well I didn't want to take the chance. So I went with these and Im gonna use my stock cats for now. When another longtubes comes on the market ill probably make the switch if these don't do the job, but hell for the price you cant beat it! These came with BBK's own paper gasket, but im gonna go with a set of Mopar gaskets that's about it. The headers are going on next Monday, so I wont have anything really to post till then. Just wanted to show them off a little.

ooohhhh shinnnyyyyy! Those look good, I have been looking at these for awhile! Bigger primaries then JBA the only bad thing is their steel but since they have the option of ceramic coating then it works out better. Reps for being the guinea pig! Let us know how it goes!

They do look awesome!

They sure are purty, but There's one more major difference to JBA's.

4G Eagle Hemi's have D shaped exhaust ports, not round

JBA's match the stock engine ports, BBK's dont.

My JBA's

ARH LongTubes have D shaped

I just looked at and noticed that. But they still should realistically flow all the exhaust right?!?!?!

Good catch BRH!

moparornocar72 03-26-2012 10:49 PM

Nope just compared some different picks, ur right it will have a few small gaps at the top and bottom of the ports, interesting, I may be calling bbk and seeing if they have any answers for this in the morning!

Ideally, everything should line up 100% for maximum flow without introducing any obstacle or turbulance.

Will they still work?, absolutely,
but work as well as matched port flanges if given the choice?, no way.

This issue, along with the stainless steel of the JBA's
may explain price difference now from BBK's to JBA's

personally, Id pay $200 more for JBA's, sorry 03lowram
its a crappy thing to post on your thread,

On a possitive note, in the long run, anything's going to be better than stock manifolds
and these ST's are just temporary until someone releases a more affordable LT header than the $1600 ARH's.

I really want ARHs, I just don't want to go broke!!!

x2. Pacesetter said they would be working on LT's in the next few months to look back around summer. The only thing that kind of bothered me about the JBA's is they had no dyno info for the shorty headers. You think they would have done that before releasing them. But they did say they were working on trying to get some numbers!
