First trip to the track with the new truck
Went with a buddy friday. His closest:2012 express qc with chrome clad plastidipped 20" wheels, 3.92 gears and open rearend, cutout and vararam intake. Mine farthest: 2012 lonestar cc with polished face 20" wheels, 3.55 gears with lsd, 200 pound front bumper
Still trying to figure out why the 15.3 was a glory run. Coolant temps never went over 215 and when it got close it was right off the highway and like 4 or 5 back to back runs
looks like you had fun..lotsa runs!! be careful..this can be addicting..
Not bad for a big heavy truck! The RT challenger doesn't seem to run all that well IMO...

I was running 2.15 short times and 14.51 @94+ MPH with my 2011 QC on 20's
Not bad fellas....work on the 60 times and you will see some awesome ET's and have some good trap speeds.
No, no traction issues. Believe it or not, I run 45 PSI., at all 4 corners.
As I recall, we have had the discussion about torque braking on the launch, many times.
I have not seen a quicker 60ft. time from a stock 2011 QC on 20's, period.
Drag racing is old hat to me, I have been doing it 40+ years. Hundereds of 9,10, & 11 sec. passes under the belt. If my truck were pulling timing as many claim, it would not run the #'s. Trust me, I have experimented launching it, and this has proven to be the best method......the #'s prove it out.
I've tried a number of launching techniques,
200+ passes on my 10' Ram in the last two years and I've come to the same conclusion as Fred.
Specially since the new verter went in last Fall.
I punch her HARD from idle, on the tail end of the second yellow, tach pegs to 3K instantly,
no trace of torque managment at all and I'm off the line at near peak torque instantly
.004 R/T's and 1.8 sec 60 footers dont lie.
FWIW, my RC 4x4 has 3.55's and is as heavy as a 2wd QC
with more rolling drivetrain loss with a transfercase and front drivetrain that's always turning
That's what counts.
My mods were only intake,exhaust,tuner and tires for 75% of my runs
in my first year and a half with my 10' Ram.
The Torque Converter was the single biggest change that happened last fall, just before our track closed for the season.
The majority of my track slips, and best results from bone stock to where I am now
and every mod along the way were launching from no more than 800 rpm.
Fred nailed it, and until someone builds a faster Ram who can tell me differnent,
I trust his advice that has proven itself on my own truck.
