Brakes squeaking

My brakes are squeaking on my 2011 Ram. Is this normal or should I take it in?

GTyankee 04-02-2012 04:41 PM

I suggest that you do take it in to the dealership

Whether you wait until your next Service time or go in now is up to you

that's very interesting.. I am just over 14k miles and mine are starting to squeak every time I brake. I think that I will take it in as soon as I can.. which will not be for a week or to.

I have a little over 14k and same problem, took into dealer and was told that I have 90% still on pads and that it was normal for them to squeak as they do, its the semi-metallic pads. And trust me I am as annoyed with the noise as well. :4-dontknow:

I also got the brake squeal at around 15k. Only does it at slight brake pressure, if I get past that initial application pressure it stops.

Have over 23k miles on mine and never had squeaking problem.... Wouldn't hurt to take it in to the dealer. Also, pop the wheels off and clean out the brake dust, make sure the pads are not cracked or something embedded in them....Basic steps.

something is not right, why would it take 14000 miles to start screetching? go back to dealer. not normal.

Usually this is caused by brake dust but the pads could be glazed or something as well.
