how much does tq managment hurt a 1/4mile run

just wondering how much tq management hurts your run when you stage while holding the brake and boosting the rpms to about 2000. i ran a 16.449 at bristol dragway which came out to be a 15.9 corrected.

it pulls alot of timing... what does the rest of your ts look like..60 ft, 1/8th...

over the years i've tried different ways of launching but us really fast 1/4 guys find that leaving off idle is the best method...

Your times seem about right for a quad cab hemi. Actually not bad if it's all stock.

my sonnax line booster should be here.....thursday i hope. lol i just wonder if it will help.

snrusnak 04-03-2012 09:24 PM

I'd expect you to run mid 15's. What's your gear ratio and what tires/wheels you have?

IMO the sonnax is a waste of money but that's me...

3.92 20x9" rims 275 60 20 cooper zeon LTZ

snrusnak 04-03-2012 09:56 PM

The 20's and the zeons don't help. My buddy's quad cab hemi with 3.92, longtubes, exhaust, intake, and tune ran lik 15.0. He had light street tires on oem flower pedal 20's. Just to give you some reference. And he was 2wd. This was at sea level so pretty optimistic as far as times go...
