Tires and regearing

I just put a 2.5" leveling kit in my bighorn ram, i know i can fit 35's in there but i highly doubt the motor can handle that with decent gas mileage, will re gearing do anything? or just stick with 33's?:wow:

What gears do you have right now? 3.55?
If so, re-gearing to the 4.10 area would be a good mod, and 4.56 if you want to really have some extra torque at the wheels.

Having said that, the 4.7 is no slouch, so you may find you are completely happy with the stock gears. :4-dontknow:

^I agree. Plenty of older 4.7L guys with less power rolling around on huge tires. It will be slower than what you have now, but it'll still go. With 35's I'd strongly consider 4.56 gearing. Any tire smaller and I'd probably go with 4.10's.

thankys guys! I think i will leave it stock with 33's and save the money. Chip it and cai and add all those goodies!

dont fear the gear it is the most bang for the buck of all mods on the 4.7 outside of forced induction. and this goes double if you tuck has the 3.55 open
