thumping sound in front end
I was looking for some help diagnosing what this could possibly be in my 2003 Ram. It's a thump-thump-thump sound from the front end of my truck. It quiets down when I turn to the right and almost goes away entirely when I turn to the left, and it speeds up and slows down with the speed of the truck.
I just had a wheel bearing replaced and some other front-end work (control arm, ball-joint).
The noise is also awlways present, whether the brake is on or not.
I'm thinking it's a CV-related issue?
Did they replace inner and outer wheel bearings? That's what it sounds like. Front U-joints? Pinion or carrier bearings in front end? Could be a tire also.
