Starting issues
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 and I have possibly and ignition or starter problem. What I am experiencing is I will put the key into the ignition, turn, the lights on interior power up but it will not crank over. no clicking from the starter, just doesn't do anything. This only happens once in a while though and will start up eventually after about 20 tries. I took it to a shop and kept it there until they experienced the same thing. When they hooked it up to diagnostics, it showed up empty. Has anyone else come across this issue?

I too am experiencing this problem.

All the lights on the dash come up, radio comes on, etc. I hear no clicking when I attempt to start.

If I shift gears a few times or if I switch to 4 wheel drive and back I can then start the truck.

This is such an intermittent problem that I'm reluctant to take it to a shop where I'm sure it will work just fine!

I had the same problem with my 2003 and it ended up being the electronic ignition switch. About $25 for the part and 1 hr to change. It didn't fix my problem at first until I read that you have to touch the pos and neg battery cables to "drain" the system. As a side note...are you having any problems with your blower motor cutting out? I had this problem and changing the switch fixed this as well, apparently they are on the same circuit.

No crank when cold
It happens in the mornings. I turn the ignition to on position wait 3-5 seconds for indicator lights and systems to set. Then turn starter over and it only gets a half crank and every thing goes off. No sound no lights on the dash. I reset and sometimes I have to reset several times to get it to start. Temperature seems to be a deciding factor. When it's warm no problem. New battery, new starter. Same thing.
