Door SIll Protectors
I can find door sill protectors to the fit the outer (painted) part of the door sill for older models but not my 2011 quad cab 1500 sport. Anyone have any on their truck and if so what brand? Thanks in advance.

I bought my '09 sill protectors from my dealership
yours should be the same

Next time i will shop around, they were costly

Thanks GTYankee but that's not the answer I'm afraid. Those do not protect the painted part of the door sill. I queried Ventshade about theirs that do and the problem is they don't have one that will fit my year and model. They suggested using their universal model but I'd rather not use something specifically designed for my truck. I also would prefer polished stainless to Ventshade's black plastic and thought perhaps the PUTCO ones would would work but again they don't one to fit a 2011 Quad cab.

Are you talking about the black rubber that goes vertical up the side of the door? it prevents the pint from chipping if your door opens into the wall of the garage or, god forbid, another car. I always though the universal stuff from autozone for $10 was the exact same as the stuff sold at the dealerships.

Nope. I'm looking for something to protect the painted part of the sill as shown on the attched pix. I did find a clear film made by Xpel and may end up going that route if I can't find what I really want. I just want to keep that painted part of the from getting all scratched up.

I see what you mean. Interesting thought. I didn't know anything like that was out there to protect the paint.

Ive never seen anything like that to protect the paint, but those other ones from post #2 would be cool modded with LEDs for when you opened the door

I used the film from X-Pel. Working great so far

if I'm gonna spend 200 bucks on a set that look good but don't light up....I'll go with the ones from gorecon that do light up

SS4Luck 04-28-2012 08:11 AM

Those recons look good, but I bet if you knew what you were doing you could build a set for cheaper for yourself. Also you could buil custom colors say you wanted green/red/blue or color gradient from side to side (red white blue fade for instance)
