God's Gift of Going with your Gut

Well I've put only 1700miles on the odometer since I bought the truck new in March with only 12 miles. Knowing my dealership got my truck delivered to their lot in November 2011, I figured my preventative maintenance schedule is 6months or 6000 miles: just my own habit; I decided to replace my engine oil, filter and rear diff oil. Yes I know, diff oil shouldn't need replacing for a long while, BUT, my gut was telling me otherwise. It's a good thing I listened. With the 2012's rear diff, I am so glad they incorporated drain and fill plugs in the housing. Thank you engineers for making it a little easier. Tools; 14mm allen wrench or allen socket; if you use it, a torque wrench for putting 25ft lbs on the drain and fill plugs; silicone tape or thread sealant to go on the plug threads; and a drain bucket. Your choice of synthetic gear oil in a 75W-140 and a 4-5oz bottle of Mopar LSD additive for the anti-spin rear. Make sure you add the additive first so you get all of that in the diff before adding your gear oil. Here's a couple pics of my rear gear oil change. A big note: old rear diff oil looked like condensation got to it. Honestly, a little too puke green for my taste. High humidity might have something to do with that. I will be changing all oil after seeing this; just to be safe, but that's just me. Enjoy!
