Have you ever showed up at the wrong party?
I felt like i did today

I drove just short of 100 miles
Got there a bit early, first one there
Loaded my cameras & walked quite a distance to the nearest rest rooms
Finally got back & everyone was there

Almost everyone had our brand of truck, 15 in all, most were diesels
I was invited to park with them & i looked for a shady spot, i spotted a place & moved my Ram into it

I told them that i belonged to the Z, some of them had in the past, those that were talking to me asked if anyone else from the Z was coming & looked around as if to spot them driving up

Then they went inside to eat or whatever
I had showed up at the wrong party

I'm confused? Was it a forum meet and greet or what?

GTyankee 05-06-2012 08:29 PM

It was a Ram truck owners meet
2 different Forums
But i guess that members from the Z were not on the invite list
at least i felt that way
I was not invited to join them when they walked to go inside
I felt almost like i wasn't even there

Geez Awkward, I did that once but it was just a party, but I got welcomed by a few females that found me attractive so it turned out ok. Lol

GhostR1der 05-06-2012 08:31 PM

That's BS. Who set it up? The other forum I'm guessing. Even if you were the only one you should have been welcomed.

Uh yeah. At that point in time I really don't think the Forum you represented should have been the slightest of issue. Obviously anyone with ANY common sense would have easily reached a conclusion that you didn't just wander in out of the desert and had previous knowledge of the meeting and its location.

That being said even if you were of the minority in a gas powered truck, it doesn't change the fact that you were obviously made aware of the meeting, took your time out to experience it, and were handed cold crap on a paper plate while everyone else was welcomed inside to hot $hit on a silver platter.

I truly believe that if they are an accurate representation of the members from their Forum. It is clearly a forum I wouldn't willingly want to be a part of.

Good day to them all. I SAID GOOD DAY!

(On a side note...back when I turned out that just about every party was the wrong party)

Last month i went to another Meet & Greet
Combat Veterans for a Cause
It was mainly for Chrysler products, but others brands were invited
I was the only Ram & was greeted by a Ford driver & he introduced me around to the 2 guys that had planned it & any others that were nearby
I was not a Combat Vet, but i did have a Ram that was a plus & i was a veteran

I thought having a truck & it was set up for Ram truck owners & everyone with other brands being invited ......

Maybe next time i will shower before going,

Maybe it was because i cut 3" of my beard off yesterday, was what did it

BlueJet won't recognize me, if i stop by her area in August

Yeah, unfortunatley the Z doesn't exactely have a great reputation in some circles. When I'm with my car club I just keep my mouth shut about the Z most days as I've seen quite a lot of emnity towards the LX-geared Z and at the time I was a super mod on here. Sometimes it's best to keep your lips sealed.

I dont think I have ever showed up to the wrong party, been to lots that I wasnt invited too though ahahah why is there so much negativity towards the Z, can someone expand on the matter a bit? I havent come across any brand/member bashing at all. A snowmobile forum I used to belong too (I check it every couple months but not much anymore) was all about the bashing and chit talking, was sometimes fun to watch unfold but got old quick

Gtyankee, that would deffinetly suck!! I am sure it would be quite awkward

CdnoilRAM 05-06-2012 10:16 PM

We can't talk about it in the open forum as it would be considered bashing site ownership/management, which is a big no-no on most every forum I frequent. I will say that it's typically a difference of opinions between members/vendors and the owner, and it should be obvious who wins those fights.
