RPM with and without MDS
When MDS is engaged or disengaged, what is the RPM when cruising at 65mph on the freeway?

I have an 08 4x4. I have mine tuned with MDS off. Truck is running about 1600 RPM on the freeway at 65mph. I've noticed what might be the MDS drone, but I recently swapped mufflers and it might just be that I am still adjusting to them.

My buddy has an 06 with no MDS and he runs at 2000 RPM at 65 on the freeway.

Could it be that even though I set my Trinity's parameters to shut MDS off, that it is in fact still engaging?

If your friends Ram is a 2006 1500 model with a HEMI, he has MDS
if it is a 2500 or 3500 it will not have it

I drive my 2009 HEMI powered Ram across the flats with 1000 pounds of extra weight in it
you can see for yourself the speed, RPMs, outside temperature, & MPG

The MDS is engaged in this photo, it reads FUEL SAVER on mine when it is engaged
Cruise Control is also on

I'd double check to see if you've actually deactivated the MDS. After that I'd check if you're just running in O/D and getting that low RPM as my '07 can sound pretty weird when cruising at highway speeds. I have my MDS programmed out with a custom tune and even with my cutout it will sound limp at low RPM when cruising.

it is definitely set to off. Im thinking its just the different muffler. Thanks for the replies.

I'm sure he has different gears or different size tires....
