4.7L spark plugs

Can I get pricing for plugs on my 2010 4.7L? Both upper and lower banks. Thanks.

ArmyofOne 06-04-2012 01:24 PM

It was $70 for everything for me from Advance. $38 for the upper bank or $70 for both on sale.

^And they are the correct oem replacement plugs?

Thanks. My upper banks are well overdue.

I'm still playing with the idea of going to a colder heat range, and iridium's up top, but can't find the right plugs for the job. So might just stay stock...

ArmyofOne 06-04-2012 01:28 PM

Yes, I forget the part numbers but they are FRT or FRET something or other...there is an 82 in the part number somewhere...FR8TE82? I cant remember!

You will need a coil puller too...otherwise you might rip your coils in half. That cost me an extra $180. I tried pulling the coils out and ripped 4 of them.

When I went to buy my new coils the dealer asked me if I had the tool and I said "no" and followed it with a facepalm.

snrusnak 06-04-2012 01:31 PM

^I wasn't aware of that. Do you know what tool it is?

ArmyofOne 06-04-2012 01:40 PM

no idea, I just no it looks kind of like a piston-ring installer, but smaller.

snrusnak 06-04-2012 01:52 PM

Did a search and can't find it.

I saw this though:

"Due to tight clearances between UPPER row of plugs (5) and cylinder head, a conventional deep, thick-wall spark plug socket will not fit. Use a deep, THIN-WALL 5/8" spark plug socket for plug removal and installation."

You have any issues with this?

^Thanks. Pricing seems good to me, although paying shipping for plugs sucks. I gotta figure out what I'm going to do before I order. I might just do the top row for now seeing as the bottom rows aren't due yet.

AOO, did you replace the wire that leads from the coil to the lower bank plugs? Is it even replaceable? I don't see anything about it in the manual.
