hide-a-way placement?

Hey everybody. So, I'm getting ready to install some LED hide-a-ways (LAWs) in the tail lights of my '05. I would like to know where everyone else has their LAWs placed so I can know what's best before I start drilling away at my tail light.

Can anybody post up pictures?

Thanks!

I don't have any on my ram, but I did on my GMC...the best pplace IMO, is in the reverse section, fog lights, and turn signal spot. If you want white that's the way to go. You wanna get the smallest spot with the most reflection to help the light get out. Some people like them in the headlight area but I don't. Reason being, the headlight will drown out the strobe effect especially if you have HIDs.

I'm going to be installing old school strobes in my 01. I had them in mt 98 Dakota. I strobed out the front marker lights, brake light and reverse lights. I'll be doing the same with the Ram. Make sure you check the laws about clears light in the rear. In Ct it is illegal to run clear while you are moving. I had them clear in the reverse light but never got caught. I'll be putting amber tubes in. I can post a Youtube video of my Dakota, but that won't be till Monday cause I'm going camping this weekend.

Yeah, it is a losely enforced law here too. But regardless that's a personal no-no in my book. I'm putting red LEDs in the upper section of my tail light, and in the near future amber LEDs in the reverse light section.

I'll have to take a picture to better explain what I'm trying to do.

Why is it illegal to run clear? Down here amber and clear are ok
The red is not

The idea is that headlights are clear, so in general clear should be limited to the front of the vehicle to avoid confusion as to whether the vehicle is coming or going.

In NC red is allowed for volunteer firefighters and first responders (which I am one).

Up here in the in Ct Blue is Vol. fire and green is Vol. ambulance, but you can run red facing rear. Unless your a chief.
