undercarriage protectant

does anyone know of any good DIY chemicals / tricks to use to protect my undercarriage, suspension, and axles from rust and keep it looking good that can hold up to the harsh salty winters ?

besides the ugly black rubbery undercoating you can buy in stores.

right now i've been temporarily spraying some WD 40 on everything to keep it from rusting untill i figure something out but it collects a lot of dust, so i was wondering if anyone knows of techniques and chemicals to keep it looking new that are easily washable and will last at least through the winters.

i was thinking of buying clear and or black spray paint and trying that but i've never seen anyone do that so i dont know how it would turn out.

i'm an amateur detailer that likes to have nice things and the proper know how so any info would be greatly appreciated! thanks!:thk:

Old school trick is just put plain old motor oil on it. Im' guessing used oil wouldn't hurt. Just get a spray can or something and spray or brush it up there everytime you change your oil. lol

the best thing to do is make an appointment with company called KROWN
http://krown.com/
it just takes a Passport, money & your time

If you don't have a Passport, buy the aerosol cans

good call on the krown rust / corrosion inhibitor that is exactly what i was looking for  2 questions though .. any idea where i can go online to order the aerosol cans and have them shipped to my house in the states ? i looked for a while and had no luck finding a website that sells them.. my second question is any idea why are they hoarding the krown up in canada? it sounds wonderful .. i'm surprised there isn't a bunch of shops already open in the states

other than contacting Krown directly, i have seen the aerosol cans sold at Canadian Tire and Home Hardware. not sure if they retail online for those items, but check out their sites.
