I have a ticking noise when decelerating. It stops completely once you get down to 10-15 miles an hour. This is not the hemi tick. I did some checking around with a few possible ideas. I drove up and down the street and tryed a few things to narrow it down. If I auto stick it to 5 which disable the mds the ticking goes away. I would assume it is loose or broken exhaust bolts?
any other guesses?
Well, I brought it to the dealer. After an hour they tell me they dont hear it. I take the service manager for a ride, now he hears it. Another hour goes by and I see the Service manager and the mechanic pulling in. the SR tells me that now the mechanic hears it and they think it is the brakes. After an hour they tell me it is an exhaust manifold leak and they have all the parts but one if I could leave it. I ask is it the gasket or the manifold and they say it will be done tomorrow.
So I dont hear anything so I call them the next day. They cant find the problem. They opened up a case number on it but says it is not big deal and can just be a characteristic of the MDS, but they never heard of it before. So now I have to wait to hear back on Tuesday if they came up with something......................
I HATE when they don't know their own product! I went through this with Ford and your story brings back all the frustration I went through. grrrrr. Good Luck!
