mpg

Hi i have chased this mpg thing for a while now, i drive a dodge 2500 5.7 and i installed a fipk kn cold air intake, replaced the stock crushed y pipe with a magna flow y, cut muffler out, and put in a bullydog triple gt. It did help a bit, the bullydog has an (instant liters/100 km. So it tells you how hard you are on the gas, it also has a driving coach to help you conserve fuel. I am happy with all the results i got with these products. I have also heard that an e fan helps mpg in town. The single best thing you can do is take your foot out of it and drive real smooth. This is just my opinion.

The simplest thing is maintaining tire pressure. I have added a high flow filter and exhaust but have no data yet as I just did the work. I also added a throttle body spacer and smooth intake tube. Seat of the pants tells me it runs a bit stronger and also stays in over drive more on the hi way. Time will tell if my mods wl pay for themselves I guess the next step is a tuner that has power tunes as well as MPG tunes.

I was told to shut off the mds with a programmer and to not add a throttle body spacer. Any truth to these, i was also told that magnaflow is by far the best exhaust to use. I'm new to the forums and been doing alot of reading, just cant figure out truth from just someone talking to hear themselves. Thanks guys for the reply's so far. I will be doing some towing with the truck as-well, mainly a 7x12, 7x14 enclosed trailer with a trencher.
