Gas mileage on 5.7 hemi crew, hows your do??

Had my truck 3 months now and done 1800 miles and to be fair i find it no better on gas than my 05 Daytona quad cab with 5.7 Hemi that i just sold, i even went from Naples to Orlando today around 240 miles hwy, no traffic, good road conditions and did 18 mpg, i got 17.5 out of my old truck on the same run i do 4 or 5 times a year, around town i get around 12.5 mpg, again no better than my old 05 truck, is it just me or has anyone else found similar??

With my tricks I do I get 22-25 on trips 200+ miles. I get 12.3mpg in the city, but I have my foot all the way through the fire wall into the radiator while in town. So that number is a little off. What gas do you run?

i usually run shell V power, not sure if the truck needs running in more, as i am struggling seeing any difference at present.

I stay right around 14 with mine...I did a whole week where I didnt dog it at all, ran her nice and smooth and got 15.8 hand calculated. The question is not whether you'll get better gas mileage than your Dakota, its whether your happier with you RAM. Just my .02, I didnt buy my HEMI for fuel mileage LOL

18-19mpg is all I get with a 3.55 crew cab 4x4 in real world 75-80mph highway driving. I'm sure if you were in Kansas or something will all flat roads and drive at 60mph you could probably get 22mpg.

My old 2010 and 2012 get exactly the same mileage, here to Orlanda three times a year (660 miles) - 18.6mpg average hand calculated.

Just finished a 4000 mile trip and over all averaged around 18 with 1600lbs of stuff in the bed up and down mountains and dirt/gravel roads... Now that I'm up here in Alaska I've been getting around 16 on base with a 15 and 25mph speed limit and lots of stops... I generally averaged around 20-21 after I installed my AFE CAI on the highway, which I did a few days into the 11-day drive in a friend's driveway in Montana. Before that it was around 18-19 on mostly flat roads, so the CAI did help the mileage there and probably saved me a good deal bit of money going through Canada for 6 or 7 days where gas was above $6 a gallon! I used to get around 14 in town and now I'm getting around 15 in town, but I'm VERY easy on the throttle 95% of the time so I don't have to dump my entire paycheck into my gas tank, but every now and then I just need to hear that Hemi ROAR! :)

And I should probably say I got decent mileage on the drive b/c of how I was driving as well.... slow down going up hill, speed up going down hill and stay around 70mph MAX, although I did hit a *bit* higher on some flat roads in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming ;)
