RAM Runner

So is anyone going to buy the RAM runner kit for their 4th gen truck? I would love to see one of these things in action:

I believe that Robbie MacCracken drives one in the TRAXXAS TORC off road races truck #21

Bark River, MI
Buchanan, MI

Buying direct will save you some big $. You can thank me by posting videos.

Don't waste your money. All that kit offers is a mild improvement over factory. Not at all worth what it is being sold for. You can build a bed cage/engine cage, deaver the back and run coilovers up front for the same cost if you build it yourself.

I agree that the kit is grossly overpriced but It does come with the all the cool body upgrades too, fenders, push bar/skid plate, other crap...

Just wish you could buy them factory like that instead of first buying a $50,000 truck and then having to buy a $12,000 kit on top of that. They would probably out sell ford raptors

Grossly overpriced at $7500? I don't think so, Have you ever priced out 4 resi's, 4 control arms and springs? $7.5k is a fair price for what you get.

Fiberglass fenders are $500 for a pair. That is no "push" bar, That's a skid plate. "other crap"??

They would never outsell Raptors. Chrysler doesn't sell as many trucks in five years as Ford does in one.

Grossly was an understatement, INSANELY is closer to the mark. I wouldn't even call that a mid travel kit. It's just a glorified lift. And Yes I have priced parts, I am part owner of a shop that builds race vehicles. Here is my race truck.

Nothing says you can't buy a ST or Express and throw the "Ram Runner" Kit on be it from Mopar, Kore or where ever you find the parts at. Just tick the 4x4 option and build away, bet you could do it all under $35k  You can also pick up a used 10' CCSB with 20k miles for $21k since you plan on to destroy it anyhow... Something tell me adding the Ram Runner package to a brand new Laramie Longhorn just wouldn't be a good idea... just my .02

dezertrunner 06-23-2012 11:36 AM

It wouldn't be a good idea simply because they're too damn heavy. Without a tube chassis they have and will bend all day long.
