roller tipped rocker arms
I came across an articale in the past that on stud mount rocker arms that you can use 1.6 or 1.7 roller tipped rocker arms for a Ch**y on a 2002 5.9 L gas engine ,has anyone heard of this, if so what brand and any special parts,Thank's
CompCams screw in studs #4542-16 and guide plates #4825-8. Then you could use any chevy style roller rockers. Again, note those studs are 3/8". The stock Magnums are 5/16". So, there's a little work there. If you're not going wild with a cam swap, the stud upgrade isn't really cost-effective and you'd probably come out cheaper (all added up) just getting the (more costly) Mopar-specific ones for stock studs.
Thanks for the info
If you never plan on getting a cam, get the non adjustable roller rockers.
Get the 1.7 ratio. Gives a bit more lift and duration from the higher ratio.
I put a set on my 3.9 (318 minus two cylinders) - really woke the truck up. Best mod, period; for that series of engines.
You don't need the stud / guide plate / etc conversion, if you are keeping the stock rev limiter.
Digging up this thread,
looks like Scorpion 1022BL
1.72 ratio, pedestal mount.
If these work, then what about any small block ford roller rockers that use a pedestal mount or a 5/16 stud?
