Wireless Ignition Node - WIN

My 2011 is in the dealership waiting for the installation of a new WIN. It has been acting up for a few months and finally failed. At first the engine would keep running when the FOB was turned to the OFF position and removed. To turn off the engine I simply poked at the node to release the spring as it was hanging up. Finally, nothing would turn off the engine except popping the hood and removing the RUN relay in the fuse panel. The engine would shut off but the dash lights would still be on, as if on ACC. That meant pulling off the ground on the battery. Hopefully the new WIN is the answer. Anyone else have this problem?

I got it back from the dealer and everything works fine. The dealer claimed it was the first they had seen in a 2011 Ram but are familiar with bad WIN 's on other Dodge products. Retail on the part was $255 and labour is minimal.

Is it covered umder waranty? If not one option is to buy a remote start kit for about the same price and it comes with new win module and 2 remotes. Just a thought.

The dealer tried to blame the WIN and the whole ignition when my fuel pump failed...since it was the first thing they jumped to I'd say its not an isolated incident.

win module

had mine replaced about 4 months ago because the ignition stayed on and killed the battery overnight make sure you bring both keys because they need to be programmed with the new win module. no problems after that.:smileup:
