This was on the top of my paycheck

Our company sometimes puts random info or jokes or whatever on the top of our checks, here's what was on there this week:

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery. The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets x-ray which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has surgery scheduled 6 months from then pending review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST patient is a golden retriever taken to a vet. The SECOND is a senior citizen on government healthcare.

LOL Very true!!!

Does that mean that the first patient was an intelligent blonde?

maybe people will have to find good vets to go to if the healthcare problems keep going. There patients can't tell them what is wrong they have to figure it out. Some doctors can not figure it out if you tell them what is wrong

Man, you're not kidding! After wrenching my back at work on July 16, the very earliest a doctor could see me was-get this- TODAY! (July 30) That's exactly 2 friggin weeks!! After an exam, I was referred to physical therapy. Thanks! I had to lie in agony for two weeks for someone to tell me what I already knew! (This has happened before). On the other hand, my wife works for a vet, and each and every appointment or emergency is taken in and dealt with right then and there. There is something TRULY wrong with this!!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Give all the benefits to immigrants and animals and leave Canadian born citizens and seniors behind.

My grandfather fought in WW2 for Canada and received less benefits than a new immigrant to the country.

System is broken, not USA broken, but still pretty bad.

Exactly. We aspire to be broken like Canada's system. Nothing is perfect, but the U.S.'s system is only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the insurance and drug co's
