hauling stuff in bed question

I have an '11 R/T with 2/3 lowering kit. I have to pick up 600 lbs of floor
tile I ordered. Do you think it would be ok to put all this in the bed ?
Worried about bottoming out on the drive home. Or should I just go rent a uhaul trailer and tow it?

It is a hlaf ton truck, it is capable of carrying 1000lbs +/- in the bed. As long as the drop kit didnt change the spring rate you should be fine. If you have gone to a softer rate then you might want to consider a trailer.

I believe the RT payload is like 1,200lb. You should be fine. Even if it's a softer spring rate I doubt they'd make it so soft it reduces capacity by 50%. And if you bottom out it isn't even a big deal, there's bumpers that take the impact. You should be fine though. And if you load it as close to the cab as possible more weight will be up front...

Sit a couple guys in the back and drive over down the street. Easiest way I can think of checking but it should be fine if it was a mini truck and lowered then I might say check it but 600 lbs isn't that much weight just push it toward the front of the bed and that will distribute the weight a little better

make 2 trips if you are really worried
unless you have a friend with a trailer
don't go out & rent one

I gotta say I have had some 1500 plus loads in my truck already and its no challenge for it. I would think your good to go. :)

Thanks for all the advice. I loaded the tile forward as possible and made the trip home fine. No bottoming out. Will spend this weekend laying the tile.

this is a 2/4 McGaughy with about 1000# in the bed. No bottoming out, or any other issues on the 30 mile trip.
