I hate rubber squeek

There is a noise every time I apply the brakes that sounds like possibly an un-lubed bushing. I think it is in the brake pedal arm but can't be sure yet. Once I do find the source (-and I will, it's driving me nuts!), what would be the best lubricant? I am thinking something silicone-based. I don't want to break down the rubber.
If you have had this issue, what did you use to make it stop? It sounds like someone rubbing a balloon every time I hit the brake pedal..

grease usully works good

I would grease or silicon lubricate it!

I'll try some silicone grease.. The rattles I can handle (this truck has lots of those), squeaks are another story.

My 2012 did the same thing. The sound drove me crazy. I fixed it by using white lithium grease. I placed a towel over the pedals (don't want grease on them!) and sprayed all the moving parts, bushings, etc, of the upper brake pedal arm coming out of the firewall. No more squeaking !!!

Get that spray/powder lubricant. I can't recall the exact name but PB Blaster makes it. It sprays on wet to penetrate and then the liquid evaporates and leaves a white dry lube that works really well in these situations. You can also wipe off the overspray for cleanliness

Here it is, I love this stuff: http://www.blastercorporation.com/Wh...um_Grease.html

My rubber squeaks too...every time I hit it. Time to break out the lube I guess!

Yes, I am referring to my brake pedal, lol. Boy, that sentence could surely be taken out of context.

Really, it's true though. Every time I hit it, it gives this loud annoying squeak. Sometimes it happens when I'm alone, sometimes it happens with my wife. She has heard it so often that she doesn't even pay it any attention anymore. But if there are other people around they look at me like "what was that?" The other day my dog was there when it happened and she gave me that half-turned head look.

Okay, I'm done now, lol. Couldn't resist. Hey, we can have fun and still keep it clean!!

Yes sir; Squeeky Clean! :gy:
