What does this little diode on the ac connecter do???
 
The compressor will run if I run a hot wire to it. It has a full charge and blows cold air. It just won't come on with the switch.

I've never seen that before on a Ram. Looks to me like the P.O. may have modified it.

It came from the factory that way. Its a one owner truck.

My mistake. I naturally assumed that since this was posted under the 2nd Gen section that the truck was manufactured prior to 2002.

However, if it is a 3rd gen 2010 I am not as familiar with them.

From the photograph the engine does appear to be a 2nd Gen. I would presume the diode is to assure one way current going to the compressor and more than likely the power supply.

Its a 1995. It belongs to my son. I have the 2010.
