stereo r&r and 12v outlet not working

hey everyone.... got a couple interior problems with my 99 1500 slt laramie. first off, the radio is being a little problematic... it has shut off and restarted quick in the past but twice in the last 3 days it has shut off and taken a while (tapping and wiggling around) to get to turn back on. when it turns back on, all the settings are restored back to origional and i have to change everything. im assuming either the ground or power wire is really loose. my main concern is getting the stereo out. it is aftermarket. some old pioneer brand one... and it has the adapting plate thing. is it possible to take it out without the dash?? how so? and neither the cig lighter or 12v outlet work... i noticed the fuse was blown so i replaced it and it popped as soon as i put it in.. not urgent but if anyone knows anything about it id like to fix it... again without taking the dash apart... thanks guys

The dash is easy. 2 screws in the ashtray, 2 in the cup holder and the rest is clipped in.

His is a 99 so that front facia should pull right off. Be careful tho we all know how brittle these dashes are. I can have my stereo out in about 5 mins. Pulling the front facia then there are like 3 or 4 screws holding in the installation kit. Then its out. You can try just pulling the radio by pulling off the trim around the radio. Then you should be able to slide to small flat head screw drivers between the radio and the sleeve. But with not knowing how long the wires are behind the radio I wouldnt do that way.

I would not go sleve rt. Ether. But there should only be two 8mm bolts that hold install kit in most use factory set up with one at top right and one at bottom left. And a loose wire or sounds like two will cause 12v not to work. And blow fuse. The lighter is on swtch power and 12 acc is constent power.

i actually figured out the radio lol i was kinda dumb not to see how it worked before. the owner before me was quite the hack job with wires. i found 4 loose wires in there. and ill have to look into the 12v a little deeper
