Console and Seats?

Hey 2nd gen'rs,

I'm not sure if you can help, but I thought I would hit you guys up and see what your thoughts were and see if any of you had any experience with this. I posted in the 1st gen section so I thought I would get your opinions too. I have a 87 Ramcharger and was wondering if any of you knew if the seats from a 2nd gen can be bolted into a 1st gen without major mods? I can't imagine that the 1st gen Rams seats are that different than the Ramchargers.

Also, I was wondering if any of your 2nd gens came with bucket seats and a full size center console between them? The cup holders on my console are crap. they have about a 1/2 inch of depth haha. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think there might be a hight differince between gen 1 and gen 2 seat brackets. And I don't think gen 2 came w\ full console or at least not that I've seen.

Most gen 2's 94 to97 cup holders are in dash above radio. 98 to 01\02 5 speeds they where on floor around shifter and autos had them in a fold out door in lower dash.

That's what I was thinking about the console. I hadn't seen one either, but wanted to check anyway.

I wonder if the brackets can be swapped very easily? The seats sit pretty low right now and I've got plenty of head room since I'm not very tall (5'8) haha.

If you want true buckets you need to find club cab ram. Most reg cabs have 60\40 split bench with concole part of driver seat. Club's have con independent also I think they have lower seat brackets then reg cab. Or at least that's what i ve noticed with my quad as compared to my dad's reg cab 4x4. When I drive dads I feel like I'm 6 ft. Tall. And in mine I sit at a more car like even with dash not above it.

Well to help expand your search. If you don't want intergrated seat belts stick to 94 to 97 club cabs. If you want more custom look with intergrated belt in seat look for 98 to 2000 club and quad cab and 01 quad only (club was discontiued). Also 02 2500 and 3500. They changed 1500 trucks in 02 2500 and 3500 where carry overs. Also look on creigs list under parts along with boneyards. E bay might be a possability.

Ya I think I would like the intergrated seat belt. The stock ones aren't and if you have your window down the wind makes it slap against the inside of the truck haha. Pretty annoying.

ramfam 08-28-2012 01:13 PM

Ya I hate belt slap. Nothing like gettin the isht slaped out of the side of your head at 70 mph. The only thing with intergrated belt is trying to get used to not haveing to reach behind your head.
