Windshield Wipers act strange.
On my 05' Ram when I put on the windshield wipers they always come on but, sometimes they do random extra wipes. Instead of one wipe It'll do three then back to one then maybe two then one again. What Gives? Now I am familiar with the bad wiper pulse boards in GM's (had to change it in my last truck), but does dodge use a similar setup?? If so where is it located? Or is it something else causing it? Thanks.

i just got my 05 1500 used and i noticed my wipers doing the exact same thing and now sometimes when i hit a big pot hole they will come on even though i didn't touch the switch... but from what i read here it could be connections or the FCM that cost about 200.00.. so if you have any luck let us know!

I so dislike my '09 Ram wipers
works good at a drizzle in the first positions
then the rain picks up a bit more & you go for the next position & it goes so fast that the windshield is never clear
then there are at least 2 more quick speed positions
you would need a radar gun to clock the speed
a vacuum motor would be better functioning, at least you could let up on the gas & it would clear the window for one swipe

old thread, same kinda issue.
Was gonna start a thread, but I noticed that my intermittent speeds all have various number of sweeps also. On one position they will go 3 times, then may hit 8 or 9, then go back to three. In another position that is pretty steady, they will miss every once in a while, sweep twice, then maybe 5 times, then go back to a steady rhythm. .
It's pretty neat to try and put a pattern to it, but it is never the same.
(Maybe I should watch the road and not the windshield?)

Ok my issue was the same but then got stranger yet. I pushed the button on the remote to unlock the doors and the wipers came on. Then with the ignition on start the wipers came on without the wiper switch enacted. They would cycle thru several times and stop high on the windshield. Consulted with a Ram tech and was instructed to change the wiper motor. Took off the necessary bits and lo and behold there my problem. A mouse had chewed the wiper wiring causing it to short to run. Repaired wiring and got rodent tape to wrap the wires with . Wipers now work like they should with no extra wipes or hiccups

Hope this helps somewhat
