Cable Undercarriage Driver's Side Loose

I am not very savvy on the specific mechanics of my Ram (I can change the oil, check the fluids, etc - general maintenance)

This morning I ran over a large piece of concrete on my drivers side and heard it hit on the bottom of my truck. I looked underneath it and saw where it hit the frame, but luckily did not dent anything, just a scratch.
My concern is the silver-looking cable that runs along the drivers side from the front to the back near the frame.
I have never noticed it before, it's not ripped or damaged or anything, but it is just hanging freely. Not sure what this cable/wire is, it is in tact but not tight or attached to anything in the middle.

Can anyone tell me what this cable is, and should it be secured to anything like the frame? It is only viewable by looking underneath the truck on the drivers side.

Thank you!

Parking brake cable. Should go from the parking brake pedal to the rear wheels.

^^What he said. It will be 'loose' but should still be joined to the frame with plastic fasteners in 3-4 place on its way back.

what they said. it has a big 3-4" foam disk around it too keep it from bouncing around right?

I believe that you are correct
the parking brake cable would run along the drivers side on most vehicles
at some point the cable is redirected, usually by some kind of hanger,
the cable then usually goes more towards the center of the rear axle assembly
there it attaches to a Y cable, that originates from both rear wheels backing plates

Everything else that travels along the frame, would be the brake line & electric wiring for the lights, trailer hitch, back up sensors, & back up camera

My parking brake cable has almost always hung low.. I used to think it just wasn't adjusted from the factory.
Well I had my truck on a lift last night and noticed that the real problem is the parking brake cables are seized up a bit. (kinda BS considering the truck only had about 12k miles on it) since the cables are seized, the cable isn't retracting all the way, hence, the cable hangs low.
