GF superchip

I have a 04 SLT 4.7 all stock. I am interested in getting more hp but I am not sure about what chip to install. I do know that if I install a chip I do not want transmission issues from the extra torq put out by more hp that a factory tranny can't handle. Any suggestions? My tranny is stock 545 RFE. I've sent an email to GF superchips and they say no mods to tranny needed. My son modded his engine and three months later tranny took a dump.

Superchips flashpaq is what you will find around the 4.7 forum, I live by it and alot of other people do also! 87 tune adds a nice increase you notice on a daily basis compared to stock.

Then if you want the real power throw it up to 91 or 93 and your truck rips!

No tuner will give you enough power to hurt the transmission. You might gain 20-30lb ft with a tuner. That puts you at say 330lb ft torque max(actually less). The same trans is used in the new 410lb ft hemi.

I'm running a diablosport predator 87 performance tune and to be honest, I'm really not that impressed. I did pick up a couple mpg if I go easy on the throttle. I ran the 93 performance tune for one tank and of course during that time premium shot up to $4 million dollars a gallon so I flashed back to the 87 tune. The 93 tune did make a notable difference though...

yeah man im in the same boat. i have an 04 4x4 and am looking to tune next. i have a intake and catback. i hear great things about the superchips. and it wouldnt hurt the life of the transmission IMO
