Magnaflow DI/DO input please
Hello all, I am a newbie who recently stepped up from a 2001 QC Dak to a 2010 Ram Crew. I sure love the truck and am looking to do a few upgrades. I have a Diablo Intune coming and I want to do some simple exhaust upgrades.

I am curious how much difference in sound there is between using a Magnaflow dual-in / dual-out 14" vs an 18"?

I was going to go with DI/DO as it would it seem to be more economical and have better flow.

I know most reviews indicate to go with a 14" over an 18" muffler but I did not know how much difference I would be inducing by eliminating the y-pipe all together. Somewhere, I read that eliminating the y-pipe reduces the sound.

I don't want to get it real loud, just a nice low rumble at idle, not too loud at cruising, and then get a nice rumble again at WOT.

I've tried to listen to videos from examples online but it is hard for me to discern with the different conditions and equipment used to take the vids.

Also, is there any difference other than polished vs satin on the 12XXX series and the 14XXX series of the Maggys?

with what your describing and the options given, I would choose the 18" setup. It's a given that you will hear it at wot... I like a refined, muscular tone so i went with a big 22" maggie. But more importantly, I wanted it quiet incab so I could have normal convos with passengers. I get more compliments with this setup than when I ran the louder flows... the people who know muscle can discern the difference between loud vs quiet muscle...

...I don't have rust issues where I live so a polished maggie is what I have and used for the last 100k miles..
