Sudden and random throttle surges

Hello everyone.... my first post.
I just recently purchased my '02 Ram 1500 SLT. It only had 64K miles and it was in great shape. So, I did all the things your supposed to do when purchasing a used ride, I test drove it, I took it to a local mech. and had them check it out. I asked as many questions as I could to the dealer about the truck. And after all that, I decided to go for it. I have had it for a little over a month and I really enjoy the truck, BUT, I do have a concern. I have noticed that when I come to a stop at a light or stop sign, or maybe in the drive through, that the trucks' idle surges slightly. Yesterday in the drive through, it surged enough that I'm glad I had my foot on the brake or it would have leaped into the car ahead. Thats the first time it was that forceful. I've been looking through the forum, and I'm wondering if it could be a throttle positioning sensor. It's not showing a warning light. Now I DO have Brute Force cold air intake on it, it came on the truck. I DID ask the mech. when I was purchasing it about the surging and he said it may be due the intake and the computer trying to calibrate. Has anyone else ever had a similar problem? I don't want to go on a "witch hunt" with this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first guess is a dirty throttle body/IAC assembly. After that, I would start looking for a vacuum leak.

Surging....

Hi there Coppertop...I had this exact problem on our truck some time ago. No codes were thrown up either. It was the throttle position sensor. Hope this helps. Good luck!
